The Penticton and District Hospice Society is currently seeking exceptional individuals to serve on its volunteer Board of Directors.
We are actively looking for someone to serve in the role of Treasurer, ideally someone with accounting experience or a strong financial acumen.
Other positions on the Board are also available.
The Society supports the volunteers and oversight of Moog & Friends Hospice House and associated community hospice care. Directors participate in monthly committee meetings, provide direction to staff, liaise with Interior Health, and help maintain the high standards of comfort, care, and support at Moog & Friends Hospice House.

Golfers give to Hospice

The Penticton and District Hospice Society received $1200 donation in memory of Dick Ante, a long-time community supporter. This year’s KIDSPORT golf tournament at the Penticton Golf and Country Club featured a special hole dedicated to Dick Ante, who founded the annual KIDSPORT tournament back in 1999.
Dick passed away this year, so the tournament organizers wanted to acknowledge his support by directing funds to his charity of choice. These funds were supplemented by two participating golfers, Barry Sjolin and Glen Herman.
Shown in the photo below are (from left to right) Jim Chernoff from the tournament committee, Derek McKeever, Vice Chair of the Hospice Board, and Dave Lieskovsky, KIDSPORT Penticton Committee Chair.

Penticton & District Hospice Society gives a huge thanks to Care Closet for their $19,500 donation. Proceeds from every sale in the Care Closet Thrift Store are shared amongst 3 organizations including Hospice Society. We thank everyone who supports Care Closet and for those who donate items to the store. It's a great way to clear your closets for Hospice. On Sunday A crowd of over 1000 locals and visitors set up their lawn chairs in Okanagan Lake Park and enjoyed Elvis Gospel memories by 27 fabulous Elvis Tribute Artists! There were poignant moments along with lots of laughs with emcee, Corney Rempel. On stage, festival organizer Margaret Ashely presented the Hospice Society with a donation of $3332.20 from admission & donations. Moog & Friends Hospice was this year’s charity at the Elvis Gospel Show and everyone at Hospice Society gives a warm, heartfelt thank you to the Penticton Elvis Society for thinking of us. We were truly honoured to attend this special event and we look forward to the Penticton Elvis Festival for its 25th anniversary next year!

ELVIS is in the building! Playing pool for charity earlier this week and ON STAGE this Sunday, June 28th at Okanagan Lake Park for the ELVIS GOSPEL SHOW! Penticton & District Hospice Society is this year’s charity at the ELVIS GOSPEL SHOW. Admission is only 5 dollars with $3.00 from EVERY TICKET donated to the Hospice Society’s Moog & Friends Hospice House. Get on your jumpsuit, a pair of shades and join us at The ELVIS GOSPEL SHOW. Okanagan Lake Park at 9 AM. A huge thank you to everyone at the Penticton Elvis Festival for supporting Penticton Hospice. See you Sunday!

Jeffer's Fryzz food truck pulled up to Moog & Friends Hospice House, Friday June 12th. The truck’s kitchen sizzled for almost 2 hours. Over 40 plates were served, stacked high with Jeffer's Fish n’ chips and poutine along with their signature homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce. Jeffer doled out plates of fresh fish n’ chips and Hospice volunteer, Grant delivered the goodies to residents in their rooms. The buffet style lunch was served in the Hospice House gardens. A huge hit for visiting family members, residents, staff and Hospice volunteers including Hospice Therapy dog, Fred.
Penticton & District Hospice Society gives a huge & warm thank you to Jeffer's Fryzz for the time, effort, and for the heartfelt generous donation of this delicious lunchtime feast at Hospice House.

Local band, “The Wrinkles” recently dropped into the Hospice Gardens with their donation from a Hospice benefit concert at the Elks in Penticton.
The Wrinkles are a group of music loving members of the Penticton Newcomers Club: People who have recently moved here or have experienced a significant life change such as retirement or loss of a partner.
Two of the original members of the Wrinkles spent their final days in the care of the Hospice. While visiting their friends, the other members learned firsthand about the compassionate environment of Hospice House and the idea was born to hold a fundraising event.
The Elks donated the use of their hall. Admission was by donation and $2400 was raised for Moog & Friends Hospice House! Thank you to our supportive community, The Elks and The Wrinkles! Rock on!

A big thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, including Fred, our Hospice Therapy dog. This year's Memory Lane event at Downtown Penticton Market was a heartwarming experience for everyone who popped over to our booth. All the tags with the names of loved ones have been placed in boxes. They are wrapped and will be put under our Christmas trees in December for our winter "Celebrate a Life". Thanks to the Downtown Penticton Market for a great location and help in setting up our tent too!
