We are a little late in posting our Peachfest fun. Dr. McLeod and Ben our optometry student were on the ready to hand out some bags full of great eye related info and goodies. Such a shame the rest of Peachfest had to be cancelled but it couldn't be helped. You will see us next year same place, same time and same fantastic energy!

"Canada's largest optometric network, FYidoctors, with nearly 400 clinics spanning the nation, (still has) a glasses replacement program designed to provide vital glasses essential to individuals affected by wildfire events. The eye care company has committed itself to providing glasses replacements to those who've lost, forgotten, or broken their glasses during evacuations at no cost to the patient." It is also for those who don't have access to their regular contact lens products. The program is for those who have no other alternative eyewear to use until they can return to normalcy. It is not limited to existing FYidoctors patients but is for anyone meeting the above criteria.

Dr. Alan Ulsifer, Founder and CEO of FYidoctors in a July 29, 2024 press release said: "This program was created to support those who need their glasses to see, but don't have access to them..."

The program started in 2024 and continues to the present (August 2026 and beyond). It covers natural disasters such as wildfires, earthquakes, floods, lightning, and so on.

Eligible patients may receive (a) one complete pair of glasses, (b) an eye exam if a valid Rx cannot be obtained, and/or (c) contact trial lenses, when appropriate, to bridge the gap until new eyewear arrives.
