As a personal support worker, you assume a multifaceted role that extends far beyond merely assisting clients with their daily routines. You become a reliable source of support, a friend, and an integral part of their family. I have been fortunate to have formed meaningful connections with my clients and their loved ones. Even after clients transition to nursing homes, I continue to visit them, as they have become an extension of my family and hold a special place in my heart. Today, Brenda (Dorothy's best friend) and I took Dorothy (a former client and now a dear friend) on a shopping excursion for the afternoon. We had a wonderful time!

I would like to share this experience with you. Over the past 10 years, I have made it a point to send 12 Christmas cards to any member of the Canadian Armed Forces. I am forever grateful for the sacrifices made by our veterans and appreciate their service daily. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a response from a veteran in yesterday's mail, which made my day. Thank you for your service. God Bless you 🙏

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month 💙
As part of raising awareness this month, I'm focusing on helping families and caregivers recognize the early signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Early detection can make a meaningful difference in managing the condition and improving quality of life.
Some early signs to watch for include:
✔️ Tremors or slight shaking (often starting in the hand)
✔️ Slowed movement (bradykinesia)
✔️ Muscle stiffness or rigidity
✔️ Changes in posture or balance
✔️ Softer or slurred speech
✔️ Reduced facial expressions
These symptoms can be subtle at first, but recognizing them early can help individuals seek timely medical support.
Dedicating this part of April to spreading awareness and supporting families with the right knowledge and care.
