Hey 👋 I provide services for individuals, groups and families in the Peterborough and surrounding area.

Our services include.
- Education seminar in person or via zoom.
- Application of lice treatment and/or nit combing - Quick head check.
- Certificates (sometimes requested by summer camps)

Facebook had me locked out but im back and here to help kick headlice to the curb.
Consultations are free. Headlice aka pediculosis is never welcomed and often a huge pain in the you know what. There are so many products out there as far as treatment, lice combs and home remedy hacks that make it stressful to navigate. Combs that claim to shock lice....but will also shock lint, sand, glitter, hay and whatever else a adventurous toddler has in their hair (you would be surprised)
Hair Apothecary helps guide you and make a plan of action. We are here with you until you are in the clear.
We have some hair sprays made up that help prevent the spread of lice. We source our ingrediants from other local business. We hope you love this product. Dm to arrange pickup or drop-off if you would like to grab a bottle.

Interesting read. There is so little research coming directly out of Canada so I always dig deeper.

"Nevertheless, says Barker, for one brief moment in the twentieth century humans got the upper hand. Until the 1940s, lice in Anglo-Saxon populations were kept under control by the constant nit-picking of the family caretaker. Probably less than 5% of children carried infestations. After World War II powerful synthetic insecticides devastated many insect populations, including lice. Parents today who were born in the 1960s and early ’70s remember few lice in their childhood. Since then, lice have developed resistance to insecticides. They now infest up to 35% of 4–11 year old Australian schoolchildren once per year. Indeed, says Barker, “Australia may be the lice capital of the world.”
