As we continue to revisit past What Now? podcast episodes, we asked host Red Keating what episode he continues to think about and why he feels it should be listened to again.

Red selected episode four from the first season. It's a conversation among the three hosts about grief and guilt. As Red says: "Guilt and grief are often experienced together. Feelings of guilt can keep us stuck as they support the false idea that we had some control in the situation leading to the death of our loved one. Guilt can deflect us from our grief... thereby complicating our grief. I think that’s an important dynamic to revisit and disentangle."

Hospice Peterborough is pursuing the Music Care (MUSIC CARE by Room 217) CERTIFY program! 🎶

Thanks to a generous donation, staff and volunteers are documenting, evaluating, celebrating, and undergoing training to enhance the many ways we use music in our care. According to the Music Care team, the CERTIFY program “provides a structured, step-by-step approach to implementing music as a core element of care, ultimately enhancing quality of life and supporting quality improvement across your organization.”

Documentation of music at Hospice Peterborough is provided to Music Care facilitators to align with five quality drivers for evaluation: leadership, music-rich environment, professional practice, continuing education, and action research. We look forward to updating you further as this initiative progresses!

This is a welcoming space where conversations about illness, caregiving, grief, or simply life can happen naturally. You don't have to be receiving hospice services to attend.

We recently asked our What Now? podcast hosts to share an episode they feel should be revisited. One that resonates with them and why they feel it should be listened to again.

Host Julie Brown selected season 2, episode 11 which features an interview with Vinny Ferraro. Vinny is a meditation teacher and Buddhist. By sharing his personal story and knowledge, Vinny provides incredible insight and explains the Five Remembrances.

Job Purpose/Summary: The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting Hospice Peterborough with processing accounts payable, accounts receievable, and payroll. This position also supports the Palliative Pain and Symptom Management Program and other programs as required.
