The new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) is starting to look a little more like a hospital every day.

As construction continues, rooms and sections of the new hospital are becoming easier to recognize. Progress on the exterior is happening too, with the front curtain wall windows beginning to be installed this week.

It might not look dramatically different from week to week, but the spaces are coming together—one room, one hallway and one piece at a time.

It's time to preheat those ovens!

We're excited to invite you to the 17th Annual Picton Fair Bake Off Challenge, taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Prince Edward Curling Club. Whether you've entered a family-favourite recipe, bid on a delicious dessert, or simply cheered on our talented bakers in the past, we'd love to welcome you back for another wonderful morning of community, friendly competition, and fundraising.

Since 2007, the Prince Edward Agricultural Society's Bake Off Challenge has raised more than $64,500 in support of Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital. This year, proceeds will support Back the Build, helping furnish and equip the new hospital with the specialized equipment and patient comforts that will make exceptional care possible for generations to come.

• 8:30 a.m. – Dessert entries received
• 8:45 a.m. – Judging begins
• 10:00 a.m. – Live Dessert Auction

This year's Bake Off categories are:
• Cakes
• Pies
• Cheesecakes (baked or no-bake)

Our celebrity judges will once again crown the winners in each category before the delicious creations are auctioned to the highest bidders, all in support of the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

Whether you're entering your favourite recipe, bidding on an irresistible dessert, or simply joining us to enjoy the excitement, your participation makes a meaningful difference.

A friendly reminder for our bakers: Please don't forget to bring tasting samples for the judges!

Join Us at Picton Metro Saturday!

We’re firing up the grill to celebrate the conclusion of Picton Metro’s Round Up at the Register campaign in support of Back the Build!

Stop by Picton Metro tomorrow (Saturday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a barbecue, with our friends from the Picton Firefighters Association generously volunteering their time to staff the grill. Cash donations will be gratefully accepted, with proceeds supporting the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

A huge thank you to Murray and the entire Picton Metro team for once again stepping up for local health care, and to the Picton Firefighters Association for helping us close out the Round Up campaign in such a fun way.

Another incredible round for local health care!

The 11th Annual RE/MAX Quinte Teeing Up Fore Health Care Golf Classic raised an amazing $47,727.13 for the Back the Build Campaign!

With this year’s success, the tournament has now raised more than $500,000 over 11 years—and since 1998, RE/MAX Quinte Ltd., its sales representatives and the tournament have contributed an incredible $726,686.56 to PECMH Foundation.

A heartfelt thank you to RE/MAX Quinte, the tournament committee, sponsors, golfers and everyone who continues to tee up in support of exceptional health care close to home!
