Help Us Keep Kids Warm!

Our yarn supplies are running low, and we need your help!

The PECMH Auxiliary Craft Group is currently accepting donations of worsted-weight acrylic yarn. The donated yarn will be used to create warm hats and mittens for the OPP Keep Kids Warm program.

If you have yarn to donate, or would like more information or to arrange a convenient drop-off time, please contact Cathy Lemkow at [email protected].

Your generous support will help us keep local children warm this winter, and we truly appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Every donation has the power to save lives. Join us at one of our upcoming Blood Donor Clinics. One donation can make a life-changing difference for someone in our community. A single blood donation can help multiple patients in need. We're encouraging our community to roll up a sleeve and make a difference at one of our upcoming blood donor clinics.

Let's Celebrate our Nurses! Celebrating Nurses Week at PEC Memorial Hospital
From left to right: Cheryl Minaker, Registered Nurse - Emergency Department, Helen Hotston, Mikalya Villeneuve, Registered Nurse - Inpatient Unit and Janice Deal, Patient Services Manager/Hospital Lead for PECMH.
Nurses work alongside other healthcare professionals to promote healthy living, prevent illness, and care for people facing a wide range of health challenges, helping people heal, manage illness, and navigate difficult moments in their lives. Often the first point of contact for patients, nurses perform a wide variety of essential roles every day.
If you ask a nurse what they do, the answer is usually much bigger than any job description. Nurses are the heart of healthcare, providing skilled care, compassion, reassurance, and advocacy for patients and families when they need it most.
Nursing offers many different paths and specialties, allowing people to follow their passions and strengths. From emergency care and community health to long-term care and specialized medicine, every nursing role plays an important part in supporting our healthcare system.

Ignite Volunteerism! This National Volunteer Week, we are proud to celebrate the amazing volunteers of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Our volunteers are a warm and welcoming presence in our hospital and community. You greet people with kindness, offer comfort and reassurance when it matters most, and help patients and families feel supported and cared for.

Through your fundraising, gift shops, and many special initiatives, you make a real and lasting difference. Your efforts help support important equipment, programs, and spaces that improve care for patients and families across our region.

Just as important is the legacy you carry forward. Many of our Auxiliary members have dedicated years—even decades—of service, showing the strong connection between our hospital and the community we proudly serve. This commitment is what makes PECMH a true community hospital.

To every Auxiliary member: thank you. Your time, energy, and dedication do not go unnoticed, and they are deeply appreciated.

Together, you remind us every day that small acts of kindness and service make a big difference in the care we provide and the experience we create for patients and families.

The Spark is Everywhere From April 19 to 25, we will celebrate National Volunteer Week, a time to recognize the people who quietly and consistently make a difference in our hospitals and communities.
