Today, on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we recognize and celebrate the cultures, knowledge, strength and contributions of Indigenous Peoples here in Lambton County and around the world.
The 2026 theme, “Honouring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being,” recognizes the important role Indigenous midwives have held for generations as caregivers, knowledge holders and supporters of children, families and communities.
St. Clair Child & Youth Services honours the strength of Indigenous children, youth, families and communities, including the neighbouring Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, and Walpole Island First Nation.
We remain committed to listening, learning and supporting culturally respectful and inclusive approaches to the mental wellness of children, youth and families.
