And if thereโs one thing I want you to remember today, itโs this:
You donโt have to be falling apart for your mental health to matter.
You donโt have to wait until the anxiety becomes unbearable, the burnout becomes overwhelming, or the sadness becomes impossible to hide.
You donโt have to prove that youโre struggling enough to deserve support.
As a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist, I see how often people minimize their own experiences because they believe someone else has it worse, they should be able to handle things themselves, or they donโt have a โgood enoughโ reason to ask for help.
But mental health isnโt a competition.
You are allowed to seek support while youโre still functioning. Youโre allowed to prioritize yourself even when life looks good from the outside.
And youโre allowed to take care of your mental health simply because you matter.
This World Mental Health Day, I encourage you to check in with yourself with the same compassion you so freely offer everyone else.
With love,
