People pleasing can look like kindness from the outside—but internally, it can mean constantly overriding your own needs to keep everyone else comfortable.
Saying “yes” when you mean no.
Feeling guilty for setting boundaries.
Overthinking whether someone is upset with you.
Taking responsibility for other people’s emotions.
Slowly losing track of what you actually want.
Healthy relationships don’t require self-abandonment. 🌿
Learning to tolerate someone else’s disappointment, communicate your needs, and set boundaries without excessive guilt is part of building a safer relationship with yourself.
You’re allowed to take up space. You’re allowed to have needs. And you’re allowed to choose yourself, too. 🤍
