Most people don’t struggle because they “have too many feelings.” They struggle because they don’t have the language for what they’re feeling.
That’s where the Feelings Wheel can help.
Instead of stopping at:
“I’m mad.”
“I’m stressed.”
“I’m fine.”
Try getting more specific.
Are you feeling hurt? Rejected? Discouraged? Overwhelmed? Insecure? Lonely?
Research shows that being able to identify emotions more clearly helps us regulate them more effectively and communicate with greater understanding and empathy in our relationships.
This week, try using the Feelings Wheel during a conversation with your partner. You might be surprised how much easier it becomes to explain what’s really going on underneath the surface.
Save this for later and send it to someone you want to feel more emotionally connected to 💙

A free 4-week “Sacred Work of Dying” support group is being offered via Zoom to anyone living in BC or Yukon and is open to diverse spiritual, cultural and religious traditions, as well as those who are not connected with any tradition. If interested, contact [email protected].

Upcoming dates: Wednesdays July 15, 23, 29 and August 5, meeting from 11:15am - 12:45pm

What is the Sacred Work of Dying?

This structured group offers opportunities for:
• Exploring what has shaped our understanding of dying and death (e.g. spiritual and cultural teachings, science, social taboos): what about us ends, what continues, and how do we want to offer ourselves to those processes?
• Exploring our sources of strength and connection
• Reflecting on complexity related to decision-making and difficult conversations
• Practicing compassion for ourselves and others, using a trauma-informed approach to working with grief and pain
