Grief doesn't follow a calendar.

Some days may feel manageable. Other days, a memory, a milestone or a quiet moment can bring feelings back to the surface.

For those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, grief can be deeply personal and may remain part of their lives for years.

There is no right way to grieve, and there is no deadline for healing.

At Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice, we recognize the importance of grief and bereavement care and the need for compassionate support through life's most difficult moments.

A place to call home. A community to lean on. A future built on compassion.

The groundbreaking of The Williamson House — Hospice Palliative Care Centre marked an important milestone for Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice and the communities we serve.

Made possible in part by the generous land donation from Alan Williamson in memory of his father, Drew, this future 10-bed centre will provide a dedicated place for hospice palliative care close to home.

But groundbreaking is just the beginning.

Community support remains essential to bringing this vision to life and ensuring the resources needed to open the doors are in place.

Together, we can build a future where individuals and families have access to compassionate care when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Candlelight Walk at Wellington Park.

Coming together to honour pregnancy and infant loss reminds us how important it is to create space for grief, remembrance and understanding.

We are grateful to Smith Funeral Home for partnering with Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice to make this gathering possible, and to everyone who helped create a welcoming space for families and individuals to remember.

To everyone carrying the loss of a baby, whether your loss was recent or many years ago, please know that your grief matters and your experience deserves compassion.

May the light we shared remind us that even in grief, we do not have to walk alone.

Tonight, we invite our community to come together in honour of babies gone too soon and the hopes, dreams and love held by the families who remember them.

The Pregnancy & Infant Loss Candlelight Walk is an opportunity to pause, reflect and be surrounded by a caring community.

📍 Wellington Park, Simcoe
🕯️ Wednesday, October 14, at 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice in partnership with Smith Funeral Home, the gathering is open to anyone affected by pregnancy or infant loss, regardless of when their loss occurred.

No registration is required.

If you feel comfortable joining us, we would be honoured to share this evening with you.
