Must hold MSW and be registered with OCSWSSW or hold RP designation registered with CRPO (no qualifying applicants). Also considering Psychologists seeking to perform assessments and provide individual therapy.

*THIS IS FOR THE PORT ELGIN OFFICE* Do not apply if you are not living within 1 hour drive of Port Elgin. This is not a virtual position.

We are seeking a therapist to join our clinic. You will be provided with your own office space and clients will be provided to you. We work with clients who have a wide variety of mental health concerns and behaviour challenges. We also provide couples and family therapy. We are seeking a general therapist who can support teens and adults with CBT and/or DBT therapy, basic diagnoses such as anxiety and depression. We welcome any specialities that may help us expand our offerings that are currently quite vast! Priority to those with education and experience in couples therapy, grief, addictions and youth agead 12-17.

We are very transparent in the community with our support for the 2S-LGBQT+ community and the indigenous community. Anyone working for us must be educated on the specific needs and barriers to service that these members of our communities face everyday and be dedicated to make a change. We pride ourselves on being chosen as a safe space for members 2S-LGBQT+ community by Safer Spaces. There is no guaranteed number of clients for this position, however, you can be as busy as you want to be as we are always fully booked.

You must be available between 2:45pm-7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday OR two of these days with the addition of a weekend day (hours flexible). Must be able to work minimum 2 days per week to be considered.

Please take time to educate yourself if needed on the personal requirements of being an independent contractor versus an employee, so that you are prepared for the interview and understand the role. This is not an employee position and you will be considered self-employed in terms of your income tax.

Hello Kincardine! This is the fifth and final instalment in a series to introduce new business Counselling Bruce County . Ashley purchased my artwork (truly supporting an artist!) and invited me to come and talk a bit about each piece and the meaning behind them. We are growing again! 😁 Due to the increased need for evening and weekend appointments, we are looking for a qualified professional to begin in January working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 2:45-7:30 (12 clients per week) with optional daytime hours on Mondays and Saturday/Sundays, but not required. We are looking for a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist (not qualifying unless you have completed your direct and supervision hours) with experience in private practice and understands the role of an independent contractor. Priority given to those who have education or experience in couples therapy, grief counselling, family therapy and working with ages 10-17. Please email [email protected] with your resume and cover letter. Interviews will take place in November with a wait list of clients waiting to be seen in January.

Speak to your children about ADHD, autism, disabilities and other additional needs.

It is called education.

Your child will go to school, work and live alongside people whose brains, bodies, communication and behaviour may look different from theirs.

Some children may rock, fidget or tap. Some may struggle with eye contact. Some may find noise overwhelming. Some communicate differently, need more time to process information, or respond to situations in ways your child may not immediately understand.

That does not make them “weird.”

And by the time our children are old enough to notice these differences, they should also be educated enough to understand that not everybody experiences the world in exactly the same way.

We cannot prevent every unkind interaction, but we can make sure ignorance is not being carried from our homes into classrooms.

Talk about ADHD.
Talk about autism.
Talk about disability.
Talk about different learning and sensory needs.

Your child does not need to understand every diagnosis. They do need to understand how to treat another human being with dignity.

Perhaps some bullying would reduce if more children were taught why their peers may behave differently before they were given the opportunity to ridicule those differences.

Different does not mean weird.
Understanding should come before judgement.
