It was a busy weekend at Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home!

On Saturday, we had Music with Wes who provided some lovely entertainment, and an exercise session hosted by one of our regular volunteers.

On Sunday, we had an impromptu highland dance performance from a young dancer whose grandmother lives here. She had stopped in to visit her grandmother and show her competition medals and offered to dance for our Residents as well.

Hello Families & Friends of Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home,

While the labour disruption continues, we wanted to share a few positive updates from our Home.

Yesterday, we received an unscheduled licensing inspection from the Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care. Inspectors reported that our Home was clean and that Residents were well cared for. They also noted the importance of the return of regular bath schedules and musical programming in supporting Resident well-being during the strike.

We are also pleased to share that our hairdresser has resumed regular visits, and musical entertainment is scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday for Mother's Day.

Resident care, comfort, and dignity remain our top priority, and we appreciate the continued support of our Residents, families, staff, and community during this time.
