Something exciting is coming for caregivers in Northumberland County.

This September, the Ontario Health Team of Northumberland and St. Peter's Anglican Church are launching the Caregiver Speaker & Social Hour Series. Forest bathing (Shinrin-Yoku in Japanese) means slowing down and connecting with nature through your senses. It’s not exercise—it’s about presence, awareness, and relaxation.

First you can learn about Forest Bathing in an educational workshop on Wednesday September 2nd and then on Thursday September 10th OR Tuesday September 15th you can practice the skills to relax and be mindful in nature. Please follow the registration instructions on the poster below.

Imagine helping someone smile for the first time in years.

Many of our patients have gone without dental care because of financial barriers. Restoring a smile means so much more than fixing teeth—it helps people eat comfortably, find employment, laugh with confidence, and improve their overall health and well-being.

We're looking for a compassionate, patient-centred Associate Dentist (Independent Contractor) to join our community-focused, non-profit dental clinic.

Curious about what makes our clinic different? We'd love to meet you! We invite you to reach out, tour our clinic, and get to know our incredible team before you even apply.

If you're passionate about making a meaningful difference in your community, we'd love to hear from you.

No one should have to choose between buying food and purchasing menstrual products.
That's why we're grateful to be part of United Way Northumberland's Period Promise program. By making menstrual products available through our Food Cupboard, we're helping reduce barriers and ensure everyone can access these essential items with dignity and respect.
Together, we can build a community where everyone has what they need to thrive.

💙 Community is at the heart of everything we do

Today we proudly presented $1,868 to the Community Health Centres of Northumberland Diabetes Education Program through our July Local Love Project.

Throughout the month of July, 1,868 ballots were completed at Sweetleaf and with $1 donated by TeamHamlinHomes for every ballot, together we turned those entries into $1,868 for our community ❤️

Thank you to everyone who shopped local, entered the giveaway and helped support another incredible local program.

Special thank you to Sweetleaf for continuing to partner with us on the Local Love Project and generously providing the monthly giveaway prize.

Together, we’re making a difference 🫶🏼one ballot at a time.

📻 Over the summer, The Weekly Health Beat, CHCN's weekly radio show, has been airing some favourite episodes from past years to continue providing our community with positive health messages and education. This week, we replayed a show on Digital Health that originally aired in October, reminding listeners of best practices for using technology safely and staying protected online.

During the episode, listeners were encouraged to complete a short CHCN survey and provide feedback on the radio show. Using the link below, take just 30 seconds to complete the survey for a chance to win a $25 CHCN Community Food Market gift card. The Community Food Market is thriving this summer, offering an incredible selection of fresh, local foods from our area's amazing farmers.
