The latest global data isn’t a fact to just scroll past. According to CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health), by the age of 40, 1 in 2 Canadians will have struggled with a mental health challenge.
40 is the age where the cumulation of stressors typically hits its breaking point, and previous coping mechanisms no longer offer the relief or benefits that they did previously.
When the old coping mechanisms stop working, it isn’t a sign to “try harder.” It is a sign to recalibrate the system.
This is a clear signal that our current societal approach to navigating stress, trauma, and addictions (aside from being a systemic failure) is severely outdated.
We are trying to run too many demands on a nervous system stuck in a survival loop, and are told the answer is to ‘logic’ and ‘feel’ our way out of it.
Trauma, hyper-vigilance, and high-functioning anxiety don’t live in your logic—they live in your physiology. We cannot process them while the body is in a state of fight/flight. They are literally encoded in the neurons of your heart and the ‘danger’ signals of your primitive brain.
At The Theta Clinic, we don’t just talk about the burden. We use the Theta state to access the subconscious mind and update the information keeping you stuck.
You’re not broken. You’re not weak. You’re not failing.
You’re capable of healing.
Nervous system regulation is the goal.
