HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!
Pride is a celebration of love, identity, community, and belonging.

Midwives have the privilege of caring for people and families from many different backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life. We believe everyone deserves compassionate, respectful care where they feel seen, heard, and supported.

This month, we celebrate the diversity and strength of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across British Columbia and reaffirm our commitment to inclusive care for all.

“Muscle and Milk" captures a powerful truth about modern motherhood: strength and caregiving are not opposites, they coexist.

Photographed by husband-and-wife duo Anita Clark and Paul Wenham-Clarke and shortlisted for both the 2025 AOP Open Awards and the Sony World Photography Awards, the image features three rugby players breastfeeding their babies moments after finishing a match. The result is both striking and deeply human. A portrait of women refusing to choose between ambition, athleticism, and motherhood.

Celebrating the UBC Midwifery Class of 2026!

Under clear skies and sunshine, UBC Midwifery celebrated the largest graduating class in the program’s history.

This year, 27 students crossed the stage at spring graduation, with one additional student expected to complete the program in the fall — bringing the Class of 2026 to 28 new midwives ready to support families and communities across British Columbia and beyond.

From Convocation to the MSA graduation dinner and blanket ceremony led by Dr. and Elder Roberta Price and Elder Jean Wasegijig, the celebrations reflected the community, care and commitment that shape midwifery education at UBC.

We also recognized several graduates for their outstanding contributions to the program, their peers and the families they served throughout their training.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We look forward to seeing the impact you will make in communities across the province and beyond. 💛
