A fresh new term of Yoga begins at Sankalpa Studio with Ella Ferland on Tuesday January 14, 2025. Classes are taught Tuesdays to Fridays and include “Going Deeper”, “Welcoming
Yoga” , “Ebb and Flow”, and “Chair Yoga”, truly something for everybody. Our studio is beautiful, warm and welcoming. I teach a modern approach to this ancient art and science in a practice that is gentle yet thorough. I have many years of yoga, dance and body awareness training, and many years of teaching experience. And I actively continue to practice and train to feed my own passion and curiosity.
We will work together to increase our energy and sense of “lightness of being” as we care for the whole of us, our bodies, minds and spirits. We will feel calmer, learer and more able to cope with our lives and the world situation. And you can discover for yourself that it is possible to slow your own aging process down by what you choose to do in your life. The best time to start is always Now.
Not everyone (not me)is a great user or fan of social media. If you send me an email to [email protected] I will put you on my email list and send u registration info. This New Year can really be the start of something that changes you. You won’t know unless you try. Please pass it on.

Fall Term at Sankalpa Yoga with Ella Ferland

A fresh, new, 12 week term begins the week of September 10-13. A term of yoga is progressive and builds as it goes. It deepens understanding of what we are doing and why we are doing it. If you are consistent you can expect to see an increase in strength, flexibility, resilience and confidence, and to feel some greater ease and comfort in body and mind.
I teach a style of Yoga based on my 40 plus years of practice, which is aimed at helping us to slow down our own aging process and giving us a better outlook on life. Regardless your age, now is the right time to start!
Classes are held in my beautiful, "dedicated to Yoga" studio at 3000 11th Ave. East. I teach 5 group classes a week that include: Welcoming Yoga [just what it says], Ebb and Flow [gentler one week, more active and flowing the next], Going Deeper [yoga philosophy and a harder but not too hard class], and Chair Yoga [for those of us who can not get down on to or up from the floor easily].
If you Facebook me I will send you an Information Letter with greater detail. Or we can arrange a phone call. I also have many years experience as a Yoga Therapist with several private session times a week.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing the many benefits of Yoga.

Sankalpa Spring Yoga Term 2024

Our New Term begins on Tuesday April 2. It is 5 weeks long and ends on Friday May 3. Whether you are a returning student or someone who is joining us for the first time, Sankalpa Yoga Studio is warm, welcoming and awaiting you. Through our practice together we learn to take better care of our whole self including body, mind and spirit. With consistent practice we each can discover for ourselves how to slow our own aging process down by taking what we learn in class out of the studio and into our daily lives. This is a way of living, thinking and being that is truly within reach. And it is never too early or too late to begin.

Tuesday 5:30-6:45pm 'Going Deeper': Combines Yogic Philosophy on various topics with Level 2 Asana and Vinyasa
$100.00 for the term.

Tuesday 7:00-8:00pm Welcoming 1: Open class, everyone welcome. $85.00 for the term

Wednesday 11am-12noon Chair Yoga: For anyone who wants to do Yoga but can not get down on to, and up from the floor easily.
$85.00/term

Thursday 6:00-7:00pm Ebb and Flow: An open level class. On "Ebb" nights we do a more mat based and introspective class. On "Flow" nights we do a more active class.

Friday 10:00-11:00am Welcoming Yoga 2: Open Level class, everyone welcome. $85.00/term

All classes are offered 'live' in Sankalpa Yoga Studio at 3000 11th Ave. East Prince Rupert, and also on Zoom so you can practice in the comfort of your own home. Class size in the Studio is limited to 12. Traditionally, Spring Term is small and a great way to be introduced to this practice. If you miss a class during term you are welcome to make it up by dropping in to another class in person or on zoom. Or, you can request a video of a pre recorded class and I will send one to you.

Pay by etransfer to [email protected] You are considered registered for class when your payment is received. Returning students can also pay by cheque or by cash, but please let me know in advance so I have you on my class list. If something happens such as a medical emergency or death in the family, you will receive credit for your session not taken, and with no 'expiry date'. Come back when you are ready. Life has many twists and turns, ups and downs. Yoga can help you to recover.

If you have a friend or relative who you think may be interested in these classes, please forward them this letter. Or, if you no longer want to receive this information, just email me a "No Thanks" and I'll take you off the mailing list.

I so look forward to seeing you soon in Yoga class. Happy Spring!

Dear Friends,

Why do Yoga? Why has Yoga been around for such a long time? There are so many positive reasons! A good Yoga class will help to tone, stretch, strengthen and enliven your body. At the same time it will help u to let go of the stress that plagues so many of us, calming u down at the same time it energizes u. Practiced consistently, yoga will help u to view your life from a lighter and more uplifted perspective. It will also help u to age better as u become more alert and aware of your various symptoms of mind and body and learn how to work with them. It is never too early or to late to start, there is always a class that will welcome u at whatever age and fitness level u are at.

U can take class with me 'live' in the beautiful Sankalpa studio, or in the comfort of your own home via Zoom.

Our Spring Term begins on Tuesday April 11 and runs till Friday June 2. [This is a week later start then I was planning, due to Friday April 7 being Good Friday and also my birthday]. It is a 7 week long term. There will be no classes during the week of May 7-12 because I will be volunteering at the BC Annual Dance Competition, and I invite u to come out and support our talented and hard working Prince Rupert dancers, teachers and choreographers.

Cost of this term of classes is $112.00 total, for 1 class a week for all classes except Going Deeper. Cost for Going Deeper is $139.00 total.
If u take more then 1 class per week, add the fees together for the classes u want and then subtract 10%.

Classes for this term:

Tuesdays: Going Deeper 5:30-6:45 A Level 2 class that may incorporate Sun Salutations. It also includes Yogic Philosophy.
Welcoming 1 Yoga 7-8pm An open level class that is suitable for everyone. Beginners welcome.

Wednesdays: Chair Yoga 11am-12noon This class is for anyone who can't get down on to the floor and then up again easily. We work both in the chair and standing, using it as a prop.

Thursdays: Level 2 5:30-6:30pm
Welcoming 2 Yoga 7-8pm Suitable for all. Beginners welcome.

Fridays: Welcoming 2 Yoga 10-11am Suitable for all, this is a most excellent way to begin your day and weekend! Beginners welcome.

Classes can be paid by either etransfer to [email protected] or cheque, or cash. Sorry, no credit cards.

Please pass the word about these classes, and feel free to share this letter with anyone u think may be interested. I look forward to seeing u in class.

Namaste,
Ella

PS If u are not interested in receiving my Yoga emails, please let me know and I'll take u off the mailing list.

Our Winter Term of classes at Sankalpa Yoga Studio begin next week on Tuesday January 10/23. If u have practiced with me before, then remember how good it feels. If u have never taken class with me, and/or if u have never done Yoga before, this could be the start of something great. Yoga is excellent for our bodies, minds and spirits. U will never know unless u start.

Chair Yoga for those who can’t get easily down onto or up from the floor. Wednesdays at 11am.
Welcoming Yoga for everyone who can get onto the mat. This class includes held poses and popular ‘soft flows’ to keep us functional, limber and engaged. Tues. and Thursday. At 7pm.
Level 2 had harder poses and incorporates Sun Salutations some nights. Experience required. Thursday 5:30 pm.
Going Deeper is a Level 2 class that starts with a sharing of yogic philosophy. Other classes are 1 hour long, Going Deeper is 1hour 15min to accommodate this. This term we are working with the Chakra Model.

Yoga helps us to age better, more gracefully and slower. Who doesn’t want that? U can take 1 or as many classes as u want, ‘live’ with me in the studio or on zoom.
If u would like more info, Facebook, call or email me and I’ll get it to u. Hope to see u in class!

Dear Yoga Friends,
Our Winter term is 10 weeks long and begins the week of January 10, 2023. If u are on my email list u should have received an info and registration letter yesterday. If u are not on my email list, or if u are new to Sankalpa Yoga, or if u just didn’t receive the letter, contact me and I’ll get one out to u. If u are new, here’s some important things to know about me… I am a dedicated, passionate and experienced teacher of yoga with the good fortune to have trained extensively for many years with excellent teachers from Canada and the US. But I totally suck at Facebook and social media in general, it is just not my thing and I don’t have enough interest in it to keep it up. So don’t look for a lot of info on me or my style of yoga there. If u are interested and want to know more, let me know and I will email u or call u if I have your number. I wish for u the Happiest of New Years, and that just might start with us doing yoga together.
Namaste,
Ella
