Hate has never healed pain. It has never repaired relationships, built stronger communities, or created lasting change.

While anger, hurt, and fear are very real emotions, it’s what we choose to do with those emotions that matters most.

Compassion, curiosity, accountability, and understanding don’t erase harm, but they’re far more likely to move us toward healing than hate ever will.

What kind of world are we creating with the choices we make each day?

Harm reduction and recovery aren’t opposites—they’re both part of supporting people in staying alive, as healthy as possible, and creating opportunities for change when they’re ready.

Swipe through to learn about just a few of the ways these services make a difference.

“Fortune favours the brave.”
Wisdom preserved from the ancient Roman Amphitheatre in P**a, Croatia—a reminder that courage isn’t the absence of fear, but the willingness to take the next step despite it. Whether that’s asking for help, setting a boundary, or facing something difficult, bravery often begins with one small choice. 💛

This quote aligns closely with the philosophy of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). As Dr. Marsha Linehan teaches, we can’t always change painful realities, but we can learn skills to respond more effectively to them. Through mindfulness, acceptance, and behavioural change, DBT helps reduce unnecessary suffering and supports people in building a life worth living.

At Robic’s Cube Counselling & Supports, I integrate DBT alongside other evidence-informed approaches to help clients develop practical skills, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change—one step at a time.

Proud to share that I am now certified as an Emergency Medical Assistant – First Responder (EMA-FR).

After spending the May Long Weekend, this past weekend, and countless hours studying in between, I successfully completed my EMA-FR certification.

As both a firefighter and a Registered Social Worker, I am committed to continually building skills that allow me to support people through crisis, adversity, and life’s unexpected challenges. This certification strengthens my ability to serve our community through emergency response, crisis intervention, assessment, compassionate care, and mental health support.

A sincere thank you to our excellent instructor for sharing your knowledge, experience, and passion throughout the course. Thank you as well to the hosting fire department for your hospitality and support, and to the incredible group I had the privilege to train alongside. The teamwork, encouragement, and camaraderie made this experience both challenging and rewarding.

Every opportunity to learn is another opportunity to better serve.

Not your typical office view! When I’m not in my role with Robic’s Cube Counselling & Supports, I spend my time training and working as a firefighter. This weekend, I had the opportunity to train alongside an incredible crew at Spring Seminar hosted by Logan Lake Fire Department. It was a powerful reminder of the environments first responders step into and the experiences they carry with them.

This kind of hands-on training is just one piece of what shapes how I show up in my work as a therapist. Being able to understand the culture, the adrenaline, the risk, and the team dynamic from the inside adds a depth that can’t be learned from a textbook.

I sure am proud to support first responders from both sides of the role. What an awesome weekend!!!🔥

Sharing this excellent DBT Skills Group through the BPD Society of BC! This virtual group is designed for individuals who experience traits consistent with borderline personality disorder (no diagnosis required), and offers practical, supportive skill-building.

I’m looking forward to facilitating this group for the 4th time! It’s always a privilege to witness the growth that can happen when people are supported in building skills in a safe, supportive environment.

SCREENINGS OPEN MAY 1ST: bpdbc.ca/dbt
