Gordon Chamney Jr. was born May 1st, 1953 to Gordon Sr. and Ruby Chamney, a long-awaited answer to their prayers. He was lovingly raised as their only child. Gordie was raised in Provost, Alberta, where he attended school from kindergarten through grade 12. Growing up, he developed a love for sports and especially enjoyed hockey and baseball.

Gordie learned the value of hard work and entrepreneurship early in life while helping in the family business. Those early lessons shaped the dedicated and hardworking businessman he would become. Gordie spent more than 30 years building lasting relationships and lifelong friendships through his career at Northcott, a profession he took great pride in. Though Edmonton was considered his home base with work would have him travel all through out North America.

Outside of work, Dillberry Lake held a special place in Gord's heart. The family cabin became his cherished home away from home, a place filled with laughter, memories, and community. Gord's welcoming nature became a familiar part of life at Dillberry Lake, where generations of lake kids knew they could count on an ice cream treat and a friendly smile.

Though Gord never had children of his own, he became a treasured member of the Gregory family, affectionately known as a bonus uncle and later as a bonus grandpa to the grandchildren. Gord loved being part of the family gatherings, holidays, birthdays, and travels together.

While Gordie built much of his adult life living in Edmonton, the ties to Provost never faded. As his health began to fail, he made the decision to return home late 2023 where he could be near those who deeply cared for him.

Gordon Chamney Jr. passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2026 at the age of 73, surrounded by those who loved him.

Left to cherish Gord's memory are his chosen family, Dale† and Annette Gregory, Nicole and Wes Ganser and family, Travis and Nicole Gregory and family, Mitch and Shar Gregory and family, Barry and Barbee Johnstone, Cheryl and Kory Tizzard and family, Steven Johnstone, Rod and Cheryl Larson and family, Derek Graham and Jennifer Menzies and family, and Rick Larson and family, as well as numerous other friends and extended family.

A private graveside will take place at the Provost Cemetery.

Allan Raphael Heck Obituary
June 2, 1939 – May 3, 2026

Allan Raphael Heck was born on June 2, 1939, to Peter and Clara Heck. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Bodo, Alberta, alongside his six siblings, where he developed a lifelong love for farming and a strong sense of family.

Allan met his beloved wife, Doreen Frances Small and they were married on October 10, 1964. Together they built a life on Allan’s childhood farm that was rooted in hard work, dedication, and deep family values. There, they raised their three children Rhonda, Cindy, and Keith while continuing the farming tradition that meant so much to Allan. Known for his kindness and generosity, Allan always had a soft spot for helping others and in 1986, we warmly welcomed Alicia into the family.

Allan was a natural athlete who played hockey and baseball well into his later years and took great pride in coaching his children in the sports they loved. He was deeply committed to his community — always organizing, volunteering, and lending a hand. His home was always open, and his generosity, humor, and hard work touched the lives of everyone around him.

In his later years, Allan’s greatest pride was his grandchildren. He travelled far and wide to cheer them on, rarely missing an opportunity to support and celebrate their accomplishments. His honesty, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Allan’s spirit, kindness, and values will continue to live on, inspiring his family each and every day.

Allan will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Doreen; his children, Rhonda (Terry) Klein, Cindy (Tim) Brewster, Keith (Elaine) Heck, and Alicia (Burt) Forbes; his grandchildren, Bret Klein, Chandler Klein, Austin Klein, McKenzie (Connor) Willis, Cassidy Brewster, Daniella Brewster, Cole Forbes, and Kendall Forbes; his great-grandchild, Beckett Willis; his sisters, Dorothy Giovenetto and Eva Heck; and his in-laws, Linda Heck, Roger Giovenetto, Dave St. Peter, Doris Small, Harry and Deborah Small, and Raymond and Sheryl Small; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Allan was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Clara Heck; his parents-in-law, Bill and Marjorie Small; his brothers, Albert, Dennis, and Marcus Heck; his sister, Eileen St. Peter; his in-laws, Sophie Heck, Adele Heck, and Billy Small; his nephew, Trent Heck; and his beloved dog, Patches.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm, at the Provost Recreation & Culture Centre, with Pastor Paul officiating. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to stay for a time of fellowship and refreshments. A private interment will take place at the Bodo Cemetery prior to the service.

For those unable to attend in person, Allan's service will be livestreamed and accessible through the GFH website at the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bodo Community Association or the Bodo Cemetery.

Christopher Darnell Paulgaard was born on February 21, 1982, in Provost, Alberta, to Daryl and Marcella Paulgaard. As the oldest of five children, four boys and one girl, Chris naturally took on a role of leadership, setting an example through his strong work ethic and quiet dedication to those around him.

Chris built his life around hard work, spending years in both the oilfield and agriculture. While he valued the friendships and experiences the oilfield brought him, farming was where his heart truly belonged. It wasn’t just his livelihood, it was his passion. Working alongside his brother and father, Chris took great pride in growing and caring for the family farm, always striving to make it better.

Above all else, Chris’s greatest love was his family. His wife, Heather, and their children, Cruz, Jaxen, and Saige, were the center of his world. He was a devoted husband and an exceptional father: steady, selfless, and deeply loving. Whether through quiet support or everyday moments, he showed his family what it meant to be truly cared for. To them, and to many others, he was simply the best.

On May 1, 2026, Chris passed away unexpectedly at the farm at the age of 44.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his loving wife, Heather; his children, Cruz, Jaxen, and Saige; his parents, Daryl and Marcella Paulgaard; his sister, Janessa (Rob) Ganser and their sons, Chase, Kiptyn, and Axel; his brothers, Kyle and his daughter, Chursti; Jeremy (Tiffanee) and their children, Gunner, Berklee, and Harlyn; and Jordan (Bailey) and their children, Briar, Ryker, and Walker. He will also be lovingly remembered by his parents-in-law, Maurice and Paulette O’Callaghan; his sisters-in-law, Danielle (Tom) Rigden and Allison (Matt) Nyberg and their children, Rowan and Rhett; as well as numerous extended family members and countless friends whose lives he touched.

Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, Gordon and Gladys Paulgaard, Joe Rehman, and Tom and Katherine White.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Chris on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Provost Arena. Interment will follow at the Provost Cemetery. All are welcome to stay afterward for a time of fellowship, refreshments, and shared memories.
