With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Hilda Feser on October 31, following a short battle with illness.

Hilda’s passing leaves a deep sadness in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her family and friends will hold close the memories they shared, finding comfort in the moments, conversations, and connections that will always remain part of their lives.

As we mourn her loss, we also honour her life and the place she will forever hold in our hearts. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Mass of Christian Burial for Hilda will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Macklin, Saskatchewan.

Elaine Marie Laura Schamber was born November 2, 1954, in Castor, Alberta. She passed away peacefully at the Provost Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 71 years.

Elaine lived her life FULLY for the Lord. Truly an example for all, of what the care, kindness, compassion, and love of Jesus looks like as we abide in him and him in us. We have all been blessed by the life of Christ through Elaine, a true disciple, and “Jesus Girl”.

Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Brian Kemp; children, Chad (Aline) Kemp, Rhaya and Phoenix, Lindsay (Jason) Varty, Hudson (Brenna), Autumn (Jaxson), Kobin and Chalsie (Jordan) Heath, Tason and Kraden; siblings, Raymond (Janice ⴕ) Schamber, Allen (Carol) Schamber, Larry Schamber, Wilfred (Bonnie) Schamber, Richard (Careen) Schamber and Marlene (Randy) Tanner; siblings-in-law, Monte Kemp, Wade Kemp, Jerry Kemp, Patricia McGowan and Randy Kemp; father-in-law, Joe Diamond; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Amelia (Beier) Schamber; parents-in-law: Roy Kemp and Lavonne Diamond; sister-in-law, Janice Schamber; niece, Nicole Schamber; nephew, Cody Kemp.

A celebration of Elaine’s “Going Home” will be Thursday November 5, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Provost Recreation and Cultural Centre (5113 43 street). For those unable to attend in person, a live stream of Elaine’s Going Home will be available through her page on Gregory’s funeral home website. Elaine had a request for those who attend to wear animal print, her favourite, if they so choose.

A private family interment will take place at the Provost Cemetery.

It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Bertha Jones announces her peaceful passing on Monday, October 26, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Bertha was born on August 19, 1934, to Emelia and Matthew Hlohovsky in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. She had three brothers and three sisters. Her early days were spent on the farm in Fox Valley. In 1946, her father passed away and the family moved to Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. In 1956, Bertha obtained her registered nursing designation and worked briefly at Medicine Hat Hospital. In November 1957, Bertha married Ralph Jones. They moved to Birdsview District, south of Czar, where they farmed and raised a family. After 70 years on the farm, they moved to Battle River Lodge in January 2025.

In 1958, their first child Dallas arrived, followed by Grant in 1959, Jackie in 1960, Beverly in 1962 and Dwayne in 1968.

Bertha taught her children about respect, compassion, decency, honesty and the value of hard work. Childhood illnesses were treated with hot rye and sugar for a cough, mustard plaster for chest congestion and skinned knees were met with the kind words of “be careful.” With a nurse as a mother, missing school was not an option.

Summers, right up until the end, were spent going on picnics with neighbours. Bertha was a fierce competitor when it came to Scrabble, bridge, bowling and cards. Myrna and Bertha spent many hours solving crossword puzzles. Her competitive nature was passed on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren through cards and Scrabble. In the neighbourhood Bertha was known for jam rings and pies which Vernon could smell three miles away, her huge garden and her iced tea, which the grandchildren loved. Bertha was also known to supply a neighbour or two with ci******es on the sly.

Bertha is survived by her husband of 69 years Ralph; daughter Dallas of Red Deer; son Grant and Allyce of Czar; daughter Jackie and Kent of Greenshields; daughter Beverly and Ed of Czar; and son Dwayne of Hughenden. Also surviving GG are eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bertha’s memory is held close by her two brothers: Joe and Deannie and family of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Frank and Joan and family of Ottawa, Ontario. She leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family in Germany.

She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters and one brother and their spouses.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a funeral service for Bertha on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Czar Culture and Rec. Center in Czar, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick to officiating. The family of Fenton Yeo sadly announce his passing on Wednesday October 28, 2026, at the Provost Hospital following an extended stay in Palliatives Care.

James Fenton Yeo was born on March 9, 1947, to Sherman Yeo and Ruby (Gordon) Yeo at the Western Hospital in Alberton, Prince Edward Island.

The family moved to Saint John, New Brunswick in 1948.

Fenton loved sports, he enjoyed playing ball as a teen and young adult. As he became older, he enjoyed curling and golf along with ball. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed different kinds of music.

Fenton worked at many jobs during his youth and finally settled on being an orderly at the Saint John General Hospital. It was here he met Margaret Nichol, a student in the RNA course in 1972, and they have been together for 54 years. They lived in Albert County from 1973 – 1987 at which time he worked at the Albert County Hospital and took an online hospital administration course through the U of S in Saskatoon while the children were little. In 1987 we moved to Leader, Saskatchewan where he become administrator of Western Senior Citizens Home until 1996 when we moved to Macklin, Saskatchewan to run St. Joseph’s Health Care Facility under the leadership of the Sisters of Saint Elizabeth until he retired in 2011. He was an important part of the original committee that formed The Macklin & District Health Foundation. Then he worked part time at the Provost, Alberta PCN for seven years until he fully retired.

His first son Christopher was born in February 1973, followed by daughter Beverly in November 1975, and son James in April of 1979. His greatest joy was to be a grandfather and was so happy when Claire was born in 2006 and Evalyn in 2008. He always said it was a joy having your own children, with the extra blessing being grandchildren.

Fenton is survived by his wife Margaret, son Christopher Yeo, daughter in law Simone (de Rosemond), daughter Beverly Yeo, son James Yeo, and granddaughters Claire Yeo and Evalyn Yeo; brothers Barry Yeo of Saint John, New Brunswick and Dean (Cheryl Atkinson) Smith of Ingomar, Nova Scotia; brother in law James Oakes of Penticton, British Columbia and sister in law Roberta Yeo of Saint John, New Brunswick; along with numerous nieces, nephews and lifetime friends.

Fenton was predeceased by his father Sherman Yeo; mother Ruby (Gordon) (Yeo) Smith; stepfather Albert Smith; brother Ralph Yeo; sisters Trudy Yeo, Ann Marie Smith and Cindy (Smith) Perry; his grandparents, James & Empress (McNeill) Gordon; father in law & mother in law, Bill & Joyce (Hamilton) Nichol; sisters in law, Brenda Nichol and Barbara (Nichol) Oakes; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shah from the Saskatoon Kidney Clinic for his care over the past years, Dr Erasmus, Dr. Malan, and all the doctors and nursing staff at the Provost Hospital for their excellent care. We would also like to thank all our family and friends for your love, phone calls, emails and messages of care, prayers, food and hugs during this extended time of Fenton’s illness.

A memorial service for Fenton will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace United Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan. With Pastor Paul McCormick to officiate. The passing of Walter Neumann comes with great sadness, but now he will be reunited with his loving mother Frieda, father Adolph, sister Magda, 2 infant sisters, nephews Charles & Allen, Opa, and 2 brothers-in-law (one of which was also his brother).

He was brought into this world by his mother in Poland on May 12, 1939. She and his 2 older sisters immigrated to Canada in 1948.

He very courageously left this world on Friday, October 23, 2026 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta with Hilda at his bedside. Although it was extremely sad, it was also a great honor to be with him at his life end when the pneumonia won. He endured much without a single complaint.

Walter was a kind, gentle giving man of quick wit who lived life quietly and kept to himself, never worrying much about anything. He loved his cats and often fed the strays in Hughenden, along with the birds. He loved his “drive abouts’, especially to the Johnson farm every Saturday for coffee & to see his cats. He was very loyal to his friends and spoke and thought highly of Derek, Marian, Tom, Rodney, Gene, Kay & others in the area.

He is survived by 2 sisters, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, great nieces, 1 great nephew, 1 great great niece and his friends.

In keeping with Walter's wishes, no formal service will be held.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colin James Saker, age 76, of Chauvin, Alberta, who passed away on October 25, 2026, at the Wainwright Hospital.

Born in Wainwright, and raised in Chauvin, Colin spent his life connected to nature and the community he called home. He was an avid outdoorsman, athlete, adventurer, natural storyteller, and someone who easily made new friends. With his quick wit, friendly nature, and gift for weaving a good story, Colin had a way of bringing people together and making any gathering a little more memorable.

As a young athlete he loved playing hockey, fastball, golfing and curling. Career wise he wore many hats. He took over the local family run grocery store (Saker's) in Chauvin, continuing his connection to his family and the community at large. He later dabbled in many entrepreneurial roles as an Esso lubricant dealer, Ducks Unlimited fundraising chairman, community snow clearing, delivered rural route mail, outdoor show merchant, and spent time working with DiCo Bobcat, his skid steer company.

Music was always an important part of Colin's life. During the 1970s and 1980s, he played in a band called The Comets, sharing his love of music with audiences and creating memories that would last long beyond the final song. A guitar, campfire and a good old sing along was one of his happy places. When he wasn't working or playing/making music, Colin enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working.

He was a social fellow who enjoyed a good conversation, a good laugh, and, of course, a good story. Those who knew Colin will remember his humour, his outdoor spirit, and the unique way he could turn an ordinary moment into a story worth telling.

Above all, Colin leaves behind a family who will cherish his memory and the many moments they shared with him. Colin is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianne Saker; his children, Shauna (Paul) Saker and Kurt (Cathy) Saker; his grandchildren, Brendon (Savannah), Dylan (Shaunessey), McKenzie, and Alexis; and his great-grandchildren, Maverick, Kyri, and Bentley.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Gladys Saker, and his sisters, Connie and Sandra.

Colin's passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his stories, family first values, love of music, and outdoor spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Vicki passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her children, after living a very full life.

John and Katherine Weinkauf welcomed Vicki as their fourth child on their farm outside Cosine. She grew up on a farm with 10 siblings and had many stories about living in a shared house and then yard with cousins. Her love of family never faded.

After missing Grade 8 exams due to rheumatic fever, she opted not to repeat the year and entered the workforce. Her first job was at the Macklin Hospital in the kitchen where she learned a lot of her cooking skills. She then worked as a nurse’s aid until her youngest brother was born. She quit to help her mom at home and worked as house help in a few household until she married.

She first met her future husband Leo Gartner while working at the hospital. They were married in 1957 and together they enjoyed raising their family of nine children. Vicki was always busy. Even while caring for babies and children and running a busy household, she kept close ties with her parents and siblings. Their relationships became even more important to her in her later years as a day never went by when she didn’t talk to one of them. Over the years she was involved in her community and surrounded by friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were ironing, baking, camping, quilting, dancing, traveling, bingo and almost any card game.

She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She treasured opportunities to watch them grow and was eager to make grandchildren their favorite meals whenever they visited. We will miss her stories, her smile and quick humor and her eagerness to always make time to visit.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (4805 Express Ave, Macklin, Saskatchewan).

Ella Clara Edith Forbes was born on June 18, 1927, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She was the first of five children born to William and Alma (Stahl) Forbes and lived on the farm north of Hatton, Saskatchewan.
Her life centered around home, church, and school. They skated, played softball, and participated in track meets. As well, Ella was an accomplished musician, having taught herself to play the piano, guitar, and accordion.

In 1945, the family moved from the parched prairies of Hatton to the Neutral Hills north of Consort were Ella continued her Highschool Education and graduated from Consort Highschool in 1948

After graduation from Highschool, she supervised at the Neutral Valley School (1948 – 1949) and the Blarney School (1949 – 1950) and realized she had a passion for teaching. She attended the U of A in the fall of 1950 which led to her receiving her certificate in Elementary, Junior High Education. And June of 1951 saw her teaching at Wheat Ridge School, north of Veteran. She then taught 1 term (1951 – 1952) at Little Gap School.

Ella married Earl Kropinske on June 29, 1952, at the Coronation manse. Two days later they were both enrolled in the summer session at the U of A.

In the fall of 1952, Ella and Earl moved to Monitor, Alberta, a community they would call home for the remainder of their married life together. It was here that they would raise their three children, William, Sharon and Robert.

Ella was a natural teacher, she made each one of her students feel special, which in turn encouraged her students to do their best for her. Ella taught fulltime until her retirement in 1987 and then continued to substitute for many years after.

Ella and Earl spent countless summers travelling to the United States and across Canada to visit relatives, friends and holiday. She was a proud member of the Forbes clan and attended many reunions in Canada and the United States. She and Earl were able to take a once in a lifetime trip to Scotland to visit her ancestral home and cousins.

Church attendance was an integral part of her home. She was a prayer warrior. She read the Bible every night before bed and could be seen kneeling in prayer by her bedside every night.
She loved history and was involved in the production of the Monitor history book. She was a founding member of the Old Consort Hospital Society and worked tirelessly on the school history journals.

Summertime meant preparing for the fairs in Consort, Altario and Coronation. They also attended Veteran Full Gospel Camp and Moose Lake Bible Camp for many years.

She loved hosting family special occasions – Birthdays, Christmas, and Easter.

She lived in her own home on main street in Monitor until the age of 95, when her health necessitated a move to the Consort Lodge. She remained there until 2024 when she made her final move to the extended care unit in Oyen.

She was blessed with 10 grandchildren,19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Ella took her last earthly breath on Sunday, October 11, 2026, and was ushered into her heavenly home.

She was predeceased by Her husband, Earl, in May 2013. Her great grand daughter, Miranda Bitzer, in January 2023. Her grandson, Darcy Wiens, in December 2025. Her parents, William & Alma Forbes. Her brother, Raymond Forbes. Her sisters, Lillian Funk and Vera Connell.

Left to cherish her memory are Bill & Bev Kropinske and families. Sharon & Maynard Wiens and families. Bob and Holly Kropinske and families. Sister, Marjorie Schacher and families. Families of Vera Connell, Lillian Funk and Leavas (Kropinske) Stanton.

Rosemary “Rosie” Anne Turley was born on April 27, 1984, in Banbury, Oxfordshire to Robin & Anne Chandler. She was the eldest of three children with two younger brothers, John (Brittany) & Harry (Rebecca).

Rosie was passionate about a variety of different sports & activities over the years but, her happy place was wherever the horses and her loved ones were.

Family held a very special place in Rosie’s heart. When John and Brittany welcomed Aria, Theo, and Griffin into the world, Rosie embraced her role as an aunt with so much love and pride.
On January 10, 2021, Rosie received what she would consider the greatest gift of her life, the arrival of her son, Frank “Frankie” Turley. Of all the things Rosie accomplished in her short life, nothing brought her more joy or made her prouder than being Frankie’s Mum. Anyone who had the pleasure of a conversation with Rosie knew just how much she adored her little boy. Her love for Frankie was unmistakable, and she cherished every opportunity to share the joy he brought into her life with the people she loved. Among those special moments was the time Frankie spent with his beloved “Da,” Linda Dalsin, creating memories and connections that meant so much to Rosie.

On September 18, 2026, Rosie passed away suddenly leaving a hole in the hearts of all that knew and loved her dearly. Rosie was kind, she was thoughtful and she was a beacon of light to anyone that needed a boost. Her legacy will live on in the students that were lucky enough to call her, “Mrs. Turley”.
