A space for comfort. A path through grief. This can be a confusing and isolating time for many, and our belief is that no one needs to experience it alone.

Oceanside Hospice Society has been supporting our community since 1990 by serving individuals and their families who are facing end of life issues and bereavement from Nanoose Bay to Bowser. With the support of over 90 Volunteers we offer a variety of support programs from equipment loan delivery, to providing respite for exhausted caregivers. Healthcare professionals, community agencies, family a

nd friends may make referrals to our services, however the person being referred must give their consent or contact us personally. We are located in Qualicum Beach at 210 West Crescent in the lovely house known as "Valhalla". It is not a residential Hospice facility, but is the warm and comfortable home to our office and support programs.

Join Oceanside Hospice Society for a peaceful morning of reflection, connection, and remembrance at our annual Butterflies & Memories event in the beautiful courtyard at Berwick Qualicum Beach.

Together, we will honour the lives of loved ones who have died through a meaningful butterfly release ceremony. As each butterfly takes flight, it serves as a powerful symbol of transformation, hope, and the enduring presence of those we carry in our hearts. For many families, the release offers a moment of peace, healing, and connection as they remember someone special.

The event will feature beautiful live guitar music by Andrew Collins and refreshments generously provided by Berwick Qualicum Beach.

Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, you are warmly invited to gather with others in a supportive and compassionate environment to celebrate cherished memories and honour the lasting impact of those who have touched our lives.

Each ticket includes one butterfly for release. Additional butterflies may be purchased to honour multiple loved ones.

All proceeds support the compassionate grief support, palliative support, and end-of-life programs provided free of charge by Oceanside Hospice Society throughout our community.

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing team and community at Parksville Tim Hortons for their incredible donation of $10,637.18 raised through this year’s Smile Cookie Campaign! 🍪💙Our fabulous Parksville Tim Hortons came in 2nd place across the entire Island for cookie sales this year! An amazing accomplishment!

We are so grateful to everyone who purchased cookies, volunteered their time, and supported this meaningful campaign. With 95% of Oceanside Hospice Society’s operating costs funded through donations, grants, and fundraising events, support like this truly makes a meaningful difference in helping us continue providing compassionate care and support to individuals and families in our community.

Sending gratitude to the Craig Bay Choristers for their recent donation to Oceanside Hospice Society 💗 They have been a strong supporter of OHS for the last 15+ years and mean so much to us!

We were present to take in the wonderful music of the their spring concert, Love Naturally, on May 1, and received a very generous donation of $2,400🤩

Gifts from community groups like this make ALL the difference to our charity! While our grief support and palliative equipment services are of no cost to the community of Oceanside, we do rely on 95% of our funding to come from grants, fundraising and donations!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came down to Canadian Tire on Saturday to cheer us on, donate, and support the Oceanside Hospice Wheelers during our fundraising Spin-a-Thon and cycling duel with the Comox Valley Cyclepaths and the Cowichan Valley Life Cyclers! 🚴‍♂

What an incredible day filled with community spirit, laughter, friendly competition, and so much support. Thanks to your generosity, the Wheelers raised over $2,100 for Oceanside Hospice Society!

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie week is upon us, and pre-orders are definitely available! There’s no better way to treat your family, friends, clients, staff and co-workers between April 27 and May 3 while also helping support the programs and services offered by the Oceanside Hospice Society!
