The Hospital Day committee of Xaayda Gwayy Ngaaysdll Naay in Queen Charlotte is pleased to announce the recipients of then2021/2022 Margie Colcol Bursaries! These individuals met a set of criteria and are pursuing post secondary education in varied fields of healthcare. All three of this year’s recipients are graduates of GidGalany Kuuyas Naay Secondary School in Queen Charlotte.
ISABEL MOODY DALLAIRE - born and raised in Skidegate, BC, Isabel is pursuing her Social Work Degree through on-line learning with North Island College. She is specializing in the areas of mental health and addiction and hopes to work with First Nation’s Band Councils and Health Authorities when she has finished her education program.
ABBY FRAZIER - Abby is presently completing one of her laboratory practicums at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace, BC. She was born and raised in Queen Charlotte and is completing her Medical Laboratory Sciences Program from the College of New Caledonia College in Prince George, BC.
CADEN IVES - Caden is entering his final semester at BCIT in the Medical Radiography Program and is planning to enter the work force as an X-Ray technician after writing his CAMRT exams. Caden was also born and raised and educated on Haida Gwaii.
All three of these individuals are first time recipients of the Margie Colcol Bursary.
Congratulations to each of them and best wishes for successful education endeavours in the field of health care and mental health.
