This melanoma was noticed by someone else who simply thought, “That doesn’t look quite right.”

It’s a great reminder to keep an eye on your own skin—and on the people you care about, too.

When checking moles or spots, remember the ABCDEs of melanoma:

• Asymmetry – one half doesn’t match the other
• Border irregularity – uneven or poorly defined edges
• Color variation – multiple shades within the same spot
• Diameter – larger than 6 mm (although melanomas can be smaller)
• Evolving – any change in size, shape, color, or symptoms

When in doubt, have it checked. Early detection makes all the difference. 💙
