This activity was a perfect blend of creativity, concentration, and patience! Along the way we put our fine motor skills to work, made thoughtful choices, and even reminisced on past experiences.

The end result? Stunning works of art to brighten our space.

🍫 Happy World Chocolate Day! 🍫

Today our residents celebrated with a delicious chocolate tasting social! We sampled six different chocolates, and everyone cast their vote for their favorite.

There were lots of smiles, and great conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and made it such a sweet afternoon! ❤️🍬

We had a HUGE turn out for chef’s table today. Chef Trevor showed off his roux skills and made a gumbo for residents to try.
One resident even stated ‘it’s like watching a cooking show!’

Another successful box-fit class with Therapeutic Recreation student Cody!
Residents are learning different combinations, and reaping the benefits of boxing exercises!

Just some benefits from boxing-type exercise include: enhancing balance and coordination, supporting bone health, boosting brain function, reducing stress, and building strength!

Not to mention, we are having a whole lot of fun!! 🥊🥇

🍁 Looking for a fun way to get moving this Canada Day? 🍁 We're excited to invite all of our residents to a FREE virtual dance and fitness class with Dancing with Parkinson's Canada on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. (EST). 💃🕺

Despite the name, Daily Dance Connect isn't just for people living with Parkinson's. Everyone is welcome! The class celebrates movement, music, creativity, social connection, and joy, with both seated and standing options so residents of all abilities can participate.

We'd love to see as many of our residents, families, and friends as possible join this special Canada Day class, held fully online. Registration is quick! Once you register, you'll receive the Zoom link by email. Please save that email, as the same Zoom link is used for all future Daily Dance Connect classes you want to join.
