With Deep Gratitude — Caring Hearts Grief Camp 💛

This past Saturday, nearly 26 children and youth joined us at Beaver Creek Ranch for a special day of connection, laughter, and healing at the Caring Hearts Grief Camp.

For children navigating the loss of a loved one, moments of play, creativity, friendship, and shared experiences can bring comfort and remind them they are not alone.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Joshua Tree Learning Centre team, partners, facilitators, and volunteers who made this meaningful day possible.

Thank you for showing up and speaking up. 💛

This morning’s Community Town Hall on School Exclusion at the Royal Regina Golf Club brought people together for a lively and important discussion about students with disabilities, the barriers they face, and what needs to change.

To everyone who shared their experiences, asked thoughtful questions and listened with care—thank you. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, participate and feel they belong.

A special thank-you to our moderator, Sarah Fedirko, Inclusion Saskatchewan, our panelists, and everyone who helped make this event possible.

Help your teen build social communication skills in a way that feels natural, respectful and true to who they are.

The Social Communication Group: Level 1 offers teens ages 13–17 a supportive, low-pressure environment where they can strengthen confidence, self-expression, perspective-taking, flexibility and their ability to navigate peer relationships.

Grounded in neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practices, participants learn through games, books, videos, activities and shared experiences—with regulation tools available to help everyone feel comfortable.

📅 Tuesdays: November 3, 10, 17 and 24, and December 1 and 8, 2026
⏰ 5:30–6:30 PM
👥 Maximum of five participants

🎤 Facilitated by Amy Scott-Wawro, MSc-SLP, S-LP(C), Speech-Language Pathologist

This group may benefit teens diagnosed with or suspected of having autism or ADHD, as well as teens who find navigating the social world challenging.

When children have the support they need to participate, they have more opportunities to discover their strengths, form friendships and grow in confidence. Inclusive schools also give students opportunities to learn from one another and appreciate different experiences and abilities.

It means more than having a seat in a classroom.

It means being included. Building friendships. Having the right supports. Feeling safe, accepted and given the opportunity to thrive.

For too many Saskatchewan families navigating disabilities and complex mental health needs, these experiences aren’t always a reality.

We believe it’s time for a conversation that leads to meaningful change.

On October 20th, Joshua Tree Learning Centre invites you to join us for Helping Every Child Belong at School, a community town hall focused on listening, learning and working together toward more inclusive educational experiences.

The Autism Family Respite Group is designed to support the whole family. Everyone attends at the same time, while each family member has a dedicated space and experience:

✨ Caregivers can connect, reflect and recharge.
✨ Siblings can feel seen, heard and valued.
✨ Autistic children can relax and be themselves in a calm, accepting environment.

Built on neurodiversity-affirming values, this program creates connection, comfort and community while ensuring every family member receives the support they need.

💜Caring Hearts Grief Camp for Children
In collaboration with Joshua Tree Learning Centre💜

Grief is not linear — it comes in waves. Caring Hearts Grief Camp, offered in collaboration with Joshua Tree Learning Centre, provides children and teens with a full-day, therapeutic camp experience where they can connect, learn coping skills, and feel less alone in their grief.

Activities include:
🔹Equine therapy
🔹Yoga & mindfulness
🔹Land-based learning
🔹Art therapy & creative movement

What makes this camp unique:
Unlike many camps that rely solely on volunteers, this experience is supported by a full team of qualified mental health professionals, ensuring each child receives expert care.

Beaver Creek Ranch & Horse Centre
Near Lumsden, SK

👥 Ages:
5–18 years

📆 Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
(Not an overnight camp)
