A couple of new completed breastmilk jewelry pieces! The pendant is not perfected yet. This was a practice piece. I’m experimenting with some new molds so that I can provide some pieces without sterling silver settings to offer a lower price point option for clients. These pendants will have a metal loop added and a simple rope necklace and will be $50.00.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! You may have noticed things have been pretty quiet. I have shifted into a new full time job and so I am now only providing doula services minimally and I will instead be expanding my focus on keepsake jewelry. If I’m going to be completely 100% honest this change happened for 2 reasons. #1 inquiries got a bit slow last year. #2 if I’m being very very honest…. I knew likely things would pick up again at some point (and inquiries definitely did seem to jump as soon as I stopped accepting clients). But my heart was hurting too much to continue doing this work. The Regina hospital blocked doulas from supporting families in triage, c sections, and recovery. And I hoped that like during COVID I would be able to skate through that with my clients relatively unscathed. However, one of the first births I did after that policy change was traumatic and hugely highlighted how important and impactful being able to support my clients in those spaces is. I wasn’t allowed in to support someone who really really needed me and the aftermath of that was scary. I spoke with staff, I emailed, I brought my concerns to their attention and ultimately it did nothing. After that experience I felt myself really pulling away from this work and so when business got slow I didn’t have the heart to keep fighting anymore.

I will say this. The 10 years I spent serving families were AMAZING and fulfilling and beautiful and packed with connection. I’m so so thankful to everyone who let me be a part of their parenting journey. I will continue to occasionally offer childbirth education and keepsake jewelry but likely will not be coming back to doula work. Of course I would never say never but I don’t picture it in my future.

✨NEW PROGRAM✨ Join us for Little Connections every Friday morning at Regina Early Years Family Resource Centre 5th Ave! No registration necessary; come as you are when you can.

Little Connections is a free open program that supports families in nurturing healthy attachment and bonding throughout the perinatal period. Activities are aimed toward prenatal up to age 2, but older siblings are welcome to join too!

Each session offers a welcoming space for parents and caregivers to connect with their little ones through songs, early literacy activities, guided discussions, reflection opportunities, and a hands-on activity related to the weekly theme.

While every session features a unique theme, the core message remains the same: promoting strong family bonds and supporting caregiver and infant mental well-being.
