🎿 CUSTOM SKI ORTHOTICS: WHY CUSTOM MATTERS

Your feet are the foundation of your ski setup. They connect you to your boots—and your boots connect you to your skis.

So why invest in a true custom ski orthotic?

ALIGNMENT MATTERS

Your foot influences what happens through your ankle, knee and lower leg.

When I make a custom ski orthotic, I assess your individual foot and lower-limb mechanics and plaster cast your feet in a non-weight-bearing position. This allows me to assess the relationship between your rearfoot and forefoot without the compensations that occur when your feet are loaded.

Custom posting through the rearfoot and forefoot can then help optimize alignment and knee tracking, creating a more stable and efficient platform inside your ski boot.

YOUR SKIING MATTERS

There isn't one ideal ski orthotic.

A ski racer looking for a stiff platform for edge control has different needs from someone who spends much of the day ski touring and needs more flexibility while walking.

Your orthotic is designed around your feet, your skiing and your boots.

BUT FIRST: WARM, COMFORTABLE FEET

Before we talk performance, we need to talk about boot fit.

Cold or numb feet mean less sensory information from your feet. This matters even more in the backcountry, where you're touring for hours and navigating changing terrain.

If your boots are too tight, restricting circulation or creating pressure points, an orthotic isn't necessarily the answer. Sometimes your boots need an adjustment—or occasionally, a different boot.

I can make your orthotics without your ski boots, but bring them to your appointment whenever possible. I can check the fit and provide feedback to your boot fitter when adjustments are needed.

NOW IS THE TIME

Custom ski orthotics take approximately 3 weeks to fabricate, and appointments become harder to find once ski season begins.

Golden Mist Toner - Step 2 of the Ritual

A flower water (hydrosol) based mist with rose, rose geranium and chamomile - plus hyaluronic acid, panthenol and licorice root for deep hydration and brightening. No essential oils here, just the natural scents of the hydrosols themselves.
