Drug plans (PBMs) are restricting members to certain pharmacies, mostly ones owned by PBMs themselves. These restrictions can be subtle, like promoting preferred pharmacies through apps, or obvious, such as increasing costs for services at community pharmacies. These limitations infringe on people’s freedom and autonomy, impacting independent pharmacies both morally and financially.
