Movement/exercise vs. manual therapy… the never-ending topic of debate.
What actual benefits the patient usually sits right in the middle.
Movement and exercise are vital, but can only take you so far if the foundation is dysfunctional. Stretching might give you temporary range of motion quantity, but it may not be enough to break the patterns of compensation that keep your body guarded and stuck.
If progress seems to plateau, it’s time to look at movement quality. We use to objectively assess not just how far your neck can move, but HOW you move.
Good manual therapy cleans up movement quality so we can THEN focus on movements and exercise to practice at home.
