Hi everyone! Happy New Year💫
Updating you regarding the new lockdowns in effect. Massage therapy is a regulated healthcare profession and an essential service.
You can still get treatment safely and securely!

🕵🏻‍♀️every client is screened the same way, regardless of your vaccination status (24 hours prior and upon arrival to your appointment)
😷masks are to be worn the entire time during your appointment, and will be provided to you free of charge
🧽massage table, lotion bottles, sheets and all other items/surfaces are cleaned thoroughly between clients
💉I am fully vaccinated x 3
✅I am rapid tested frequently

These are just some of the measures in place to ensure you feel safe during your massage therapy treatment, whether you see me in your home or in clinic.

I’ve been loving my first month of being a massage therapist.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
By the end of every shift, I think about the patients I treated in that day. I see a lot of shoulder tension, low back pain, and because of my background with endo I’ve attracted patients dealing with post op scars and pain from various surgeries. Most patients come in feeling not so great, so being able to make that person feel better than how they originally walked in is so rewarding.

Sometimes patients ask me if my job is hard, and I almost always give the same answer..

No, it’s not hard because I have the best job ever! Most people WANT to get a massage, people are EXCITED to see their massage therapist, this is time for them to fully relax and feel better. Being able to provide people that care, establishing trust, safe touch, relaxation and relief is worth the physical work that is, massage therapy.🤲🏼

Let’s talk about the language we use in healthcare.

I get to see a lot of patients that find themselves in situations where they are experiencing pain but their doctors didn’t take them seriously. So they go get a massage or try acupuncture or anything else to possibly help them relieve their pain. This past week alone, I heard patient’s stories about feeling helpless and upset about not being taken seriously by their doctors for various conditions. This is happening to women and men alike.

This week solidified and reminded me about my WHY. I became a massage therapist because it’s my entry to healthcare and my ticket into being able to make a difference in someone’s life.

Whether I make a patient feel better within our first session, over the course of our treatment plan or helping them move forward with a multidisciplinary approach, my goal is to always make the patient feel heard, understood, believed and better🤲🏼
