Glasses need to be available to everyone which is why we offer packages to make sure we have affordable options for every budget. Packages have some limitations in what is available depending on prescription and technology of lenses and frame options. Book an eyewear selection with our team to discuss if packages fit with what your needs are or if some other available options may work best for you! Packages are very practical for that extra computer or reading pair or that pair you keep for a back up!

A cataract is a painless clouding of the normally clear, natural lens inside the eye. ☁️ like a film or “dirty window”🪟

The lens sits directly behind the pupil and works like a camera to focus light onto the retina. 📸 👁️

When proteins in the lens break down and clump together, they block and scatter light, making vision appear hazy or blurry. 🧐

It is a progressive condition that is considered a normal, highly common part of the aging process. 👵🏻 👴🏽

Speak to your doctor of optometry if you are noticing changes to your vision. Since cataracts are progressive your optometrist may even be able to detect early cataracts before you know that you have them and guide you on how to know what next steps to take and when.

Dry eye is probably the single most common cause of that burning sensation. When your tear film isn’t doing its job, whether that’s because you’re not producing enough tears or because they evaporate too quickly, your eyes get irritated fast. You might notice it gets worse later in the day, especially after long periods of reading or screen time. A gritty, sandy feeling often comes along with the burn, and some people find their eyes are actually watery, which sounds counterintuitive but happens when the eye overcompensates for the dryness.

Omega 3 🐟
Preservative free artificial tears 💧
Warm compresses
20-20-20 rule
Reduce exposure to triggers
If it’s dry air - try a dehumidifier

Myopia Awareness Week is a great time to talk about myopia.

What is Myopia? Commonly referred to as nearsightedness. It’s a refractive error in the eye where close-up objects appear clear but distant objects are blurry.

Why is it a concern in children? Because it often begins early and rapidly progresses. This elongation of the eyeball not only disrupts learning and play with vision changes it also presents increased risk for sight threatening eye conditions such as glaucoma or retinal detachments.

What options are there? Specialized glasses such as Stellest or Myosmart lenses. Ortho K contact lenses and others.
