Celebrating 100 Years of Betty!

Hamilton Village was honored to help make this very special milestone possible for the Ligtenberg family as they gathered to celebrate Betty's 100th birthday.

Family members who were from outside the Lower Mainland came together to share these precious moments with Betty. One of the highlights of the celebration was Betty meeting her great-great-granddaughter, Farah, for the very first time.

In the fast-paced world of healthcare, so much of what we do can start to feel automatic, like we’re constantly on autopilot, moving from one task to the next. In the middle of busy shifts and daily routines, it’s easy to forget to slow down and simply be present for one another.

This Nurses Week, Hamilton Village Care Centre made sure we took the time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the hardworking nurses and staff who truly make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day. From May 11–15, we celebrated all week long with a different theme each day.

At Hamilton Village Care Centre, Mother’s Day was filled with love and heartfelt surprises as families thoughtfully ordered flowers through the Resident Council Fundraising Initiative for their loved ones, which were personally delivered by the Recreation Team 💐

Residents also enjoyed a lovely celebratory lunch from Boston Pizza, beautifully paired with the soothing live music of a harpist, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere shared by all.

Hamilton Village celebrated Nutrition Month with our amazing dietician Erika, Chef Tony and our Recreation Team! 🥤💚

Residents enjoyed delicious “power smoothies” packed with goodness from crisp green apples, sweet strawberries, and antioxidant-rich blueberries to creamy avocado, bananas, and yogurt. We also blended in baby spinach, cucumbers, carrots, ginger, oranges, and soy milk for that extra boost of nutrients! 🍓🥑🥕
