As part of our annual emergency preparedness training, Hamilton Village Care Centre recently completed our Code Green (Evacuation Drill) to ensure our staff and residents are prepared should we ever need to safely evacuate an area, a floor, or the entire building.

We are fortunate to have Evac+Chair technology, which allows our team to safely and efficiently evacuate residents from upper floors using the stairwells when elevators cannot be used during an emergency.

We are also grateful to be located near two fire halls, one in Richmond and one in New Westminster, providing us with quick access to emergency response when needed.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our staff, residents, and everyone who participated in making this important training a success. Being prepared today helps keep our community safe tomorrow. 🔥👨‍🚒🚒

Yesterday, we gathered for our Celebration of Life, surrounded by residents, staff, and the families who have become part of the Hamilton Village community.

One moment that truly touched our hearts was hearing from the Maclean family. They shared that when friends out in the community talked about the difficult decision of "placing their parents in a care home," that wasn't their experience at Hamilton Village. Instead, they said that when both of their parents moved into Hamilton Village, they were able to become sons and daughters again, not caregivers carrying the constant weight of worry and responsibility. They could simply spend quality time together and cherish every visit.

That is the vision of Hamilton Village.

There is no greater compliment than knowing we can provide peace of mind and help families rediscover the joy of simply being family.

Thank you to the Maclean family for sharing your story, and thank you to every family who entrusts us with the privilege of caring for your loved ones. ❤️

🚢🌊 Ahoy, residents! Welcome aboard the Hamilton Village Cruise Line! ☀️⚓

Many of our residents spent their younger years exploring the world, creating memories, and discovering new places. We wanted to continue bringing that sense of adventure and travel to them, no matter what stage of life they are in today.

On July 17, 2026, our residents boarded our very own cruise ship for a special summer voyage From the captain’s welcome to the onboard activities, everyone enjoyed a day of cruising without ever leaving home! Special thanks to our performer Ronnie Scott Iconic Tributes! 🛳️💙

Today, our Recreation and Rehab Team rolled up their sleeves to give residents' wheelchairs and walkers the full Speedwash treatment from soap, rinse, and shine to a final polish! 🧽🫧✨

Keeping mobility equipment clean is about more than appearance. Regular cleaning helps maintain the condition of wheelchairs and walkers, supports infection prevention efforts, and allows us to identify any maintenance concerns early, helping ensure residents continue to use safe, clean, and well-functioning equipment.

A heartfelt thank you to our residents, families, and staff for supporting this fundraiser. Your generosity helps the Resident Council continue to provide meaningful programs and special events that enhance the lives of everyone at Hamilton Village. ❤️

Hamilton Village was honored to help make this very special milestone possible for the Ligtenberg family as they gathered to celebrate Betty's 100th birthday.

Family members who were from outside the Lower Mainland came together to share these precious moments with Betty. One of the highlights of the celebration was Betty meeting her great-great-granddaughter, Farah, for the very first time.
