Dr. McKay attended the Canadian Chiropractic Association's National Convention and Tradeshow (NCT) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The weather was temperamental, but the learning was plentiful. Dr. McKay was joined by his son, Kieran, who is about to graduate from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, Ontario. Kieran will be joining the Precision Health office in October, 2026.
Dr. McKay and Kieran attended the NCT as members of the Indigenous Chiropractic Caucus (ICC). The ICC is focused on improving access to care for Indigenous peoples in Canada, as well as inspiring upcoming generations of students to consider a future working in healthcare. Specifically, the ICC's mandate is to unite the Indigenous chiropractic community in Canada to collaboratively develop tools and resources that help reduce health inequities experienced by First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. This work includes advancing chiropractic care as an effective option for neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) health and fostering interest in chiropractic as a meaningful and accessible career path for Indigenous peoples.
