Thank you to Options Community Services Society for bringing together service providers, community partners, and sector leaders in support of people and families impacted by substance use.

Yesterday, BCARA was honoured to attend the 3rd Annual Community Connections in Substance Use Conference. It was a meaningful chance to connect with colleagues and partners who work every day to support people, families, and communities affected by substance use.

Events like this remind us how vital collaboration, shared learning, and relationship-building are to strengthening the continuum of care across British Columbia. We’re grateful to have been part of these conversations and to continue championing the role of community-based recovery in building healthier, more connected communities.

Thank you to the organizers, presenters, and everyone who helped make this such a thoughtful and engaging event.

Today on Pink Shirt Day, we’re sharing a message of kindness from the BC Addiction Recovery Association.

Bullying and stigma can make it even harder for people and families affected by addiction to ask for help. A kind word, a listening ear, or a non-judgmental response can make someone feel seen, valued, and less alone.

Let’s choose compassion—in our homes, schools, workplaces, and recovery communities—so everyone across B.C. can feel safe and supported.

On behalf of the BC Addiction Recovery Association and our members across the province, our hearts and thoughts are with the people of Tumbler Ridge after the tragic events at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on February 10, 2026.

We grieve with the families and loved ones and hold in our thoughts everyone in the community who is mourning, who was there that day, or who is feeling the impacts of this loss throughout the North and across British Columbia. As a recovery community association, we know how deeply such loss can affect mental health, substance use, and overall well-being, and we stand in compassion and solidarity with all who are hurting in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

If you or someone you care about needs support, please reach out now.

What an incredible night at with the Vancouver Canucks! 💙🧡
Huge thanks to the Canucks and BC Recovery Day for bringing the recovery community together in such a powerful way.
The cheers each time the BC Recovery Day logo hit the jumbotron were unforgettable—and a reminder of how much people care about recovery and want to learn more. We loved chatting with fans who stopped by to ask questions or share a bit of their story.
Recovery starts with a conversation, and nights like this help spark them. 💛
