a message from our founder, Karlee 💜

"this dream has been living in our collective heart for a long time.

I left a tenured professorship because I believed in directly serving our communities and providing access to iyiniwak best practices in mental health and community care. for years, I've been sitting with a vision that combined my love for teaching and living kayâs-isîhcikêwin (traditional culture). a vision of what education could look like if it was rooted in iyiniwak ways of knowing, and free from colonial institutions determining how, what, where, and from whom we are allowed to learn.

this dream grew as ᒪᐢᑭᐦᑭᕀ maskihkiy grew. and finally, our team is turning it into a reality."

when did you last stop to really notice what was around you?

the rustle of leaves
the smell of earth
the way light moves through the trees
the wind on your face
the feeling of grass on your skin 🌿

this is your invitation to slow down and be present.

🌕 full moon medicine

our bodies remember the land.

they remember the smell of damp earth, the medicine in the water, the language of the wind, and the feeling of being held by something larger than ourselves.

we are the land: remembering what our bodies already know reflects on the relationship between land, body, wellness, and colonial disruption—and the truth that healing is not something we do in isolation, but something that happens in relationship.

when the land thrives, we thrive. and when we return to the land, we return to ourselves.
