A pretty common concern I hear is that someone’s partner is hesitant about doula support because they’re worried a doula would take their place. Just like all concerns, this one is valid. However, I have yet to meet a partner who has had doula support who was anything but grateful for the extra set of hands.
I always say that as a doula, I am of course there primarily to support the birther. However, I am also there to support the partner as well. In the moment, that may look like “I’ve got this for the next 30 minutes—you go take a nap.” Or it can look like doing the heavy physical support, so that you can focus on being present with your partner in the hard moments.
Trust that doula support is so valuable for the WHOLE family. Let me do the hip squeezes, so you can connect face-to-face in the moments that matter most. ♥️
