Functions: • Expels wind-heat and releases the exterior: nasal congestion, sneezing, burning eyes, allergic rhinitis, hay fever. • Stimulates dispersing and descending: for nasal congestion, sneezing, cough, stiff neck, aversion to cold, common cold, influenza, infectious disease. • Unblocks the channels: stops pain due to spasm and relieves painful obstruction syndrome of the arm and shoulder. • Treats facial problems: rhinitis, conjunctivitis, mouth ulcers, sties, sinusitis, epistaxis, toothache, trigeminal neuralgia. • Tonifies qi and consolidates the exterior: for chronic wind attacks. • Harmonizes the ascending of yang and descending of yin: subdues ascending rebellious qi of the stomach, lung, liver with symptoms of epigastric pain, liver-yang rising in migraine headaches, and asthma.
