A chance to honour those lost and remembered 🤍
If you’re on this journey know you’re not alone. On Wednesday, May 13 everyone is invited to walk together in remembrance of those lost and to process their grief alongside others who understand.

Just a reminder that the Walk to Remember will be held on May 13 from 6:00–7:30 pm.

Our regular Grief Walk will also still take place that day from 10:00–11:30 am.

A Walk to Remember, held in honour of National Hospice Palliative Care Week, is an evening dedicated to honouring and remembering those we have lost. Along this walk, you can expect to find a sense of community. Whether your grief is new or long-standing, we offer a quiet companionship and space to reflect, share stories, or simply feel connected with others. At our last Walk to Remember, we were joined by 40 participants. 🙌

You are welcome to walk alongside those who understand the power of remembrance. If you’re on this journey, please know you’re not alone — come as you are as we continue to cherish the impact of those who are no longer with us. 💙

Funded in part by the City of St.Albert, Grief Walks are led by trained volunteers from SASHA, BLESS, and the St. Albert Bereavement Fellowship. As participants walk together, they’re invited to process their grief.

This week is Administrative Professionals Week. Our gratitude to everyone in our community who does this important work, keeping everything running behind the scenes in organizations and businesses we all count on.

A special shout-out to our own incredible Client Care team. When someone reaches out to Rivers Edge, they're often in a vulnerable moment, wondering if they'll be understood and hoping they'll find the right person to help. Our Client Care team is the first voice they hear. They listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and work hard to match each client with a therapist who's truly the right fit. Your work shapes a client's entire experience before therapy even begins.

To our team....thank you for the patience, warmth, and genuine care you bring to every single conversation.

Space still Available! Life is full of transitions—whether it’s changing careers, navigating shifts in relationships, welcoming your first child, or sending one off to college. These moments, while often exciting, can also bring uncertainty, stress, and self-doubt. Fostering resilience during these times is essential to navigate change with confidence and well-being.

In this session, we explore strategies to strengthen resilience by embracing uncertainty rather than resisting it. We discuss the importance of reflecting on past transitions that were navigated successfully, drawing strength and insight from these experiences to guide us through current challenges. Additionally, we look at self-compassion as a crucial tool—reminding ourselves that it is normal to feel vulnerable and uncertain during change, but remembering to treat ourselves with kindness. We also highlight the value of seeking support from trusted friends, family, or counsellors, recognizing that connection and guidance can buffer the stress of life transitions.

Through the webinar, individuals will be encouraged to focus on aspects of their lives they can control, such as their mindset, self-care, and planning, while acknowledging that uncertainty in some areas is unavoidable. By integrating these strategies—embracing uncertainty, leveraging past successes, practicing self-compassion, seeking support, and focusing on controllable factors—individuals can foster resilience and approach life’s transitions with greater confidence, adaptability, and hope. 💚
