On my way to remind you that…

Acne is NOT a hygiene issue.

Acne is a medical skin condition.

Hormones, sebum production, follicular plugging, inflammation and C. acnes can all play a role.

And actually? Over cleansing can irritate acne prone skin and make things worse.

So no acne doesn’t mean your skin is dirty. 🤍 Dr G Smeda

For some people living with chronic migraine, Botox can form part of a preventive treatment plan helping reduce the frequency and impact of migraine attacks.

It is a medical treatment performed using a specific injection pattern across areas of the head and neck following a full clinical assessment.

Not every headache is a migraine, and Botox is not suitable for everyone. The correct diagnosis always comes first.

Maybe growing isn’t always about changing who you are. Sometimes it’s about finally embracing her. 🤍

Sometimes, stepping away reminds you what you want to carry back with you.

Slower moments. A quieter mind. More time with the people I love and the understanding that rest is not something we have to earn.

As doctors, mothers and women, we are often so busy caring for everyone else that we forget we need care too.

I’m returning refreshed, grateful and ready for everything ahead. ✨

PCOS is now being referred to as PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

And honestly, the change feels long overdue.

Because this condition was never just about the ovaries.

PMOS can affect the entire body:
hormonal balance, metabolism, insulin resistance, fertility, skin, hair, weight, energy levels, and mental health.

For many women, symptoms can include:
acne, hair thinning, excess facial hair, fatigue, anxiety, low mood, irregular cycles, and difficulty losing weight.

A name change may seem small but it reflects something much bigger:
women’s health is finally being taken more seriously.

It was never “just hormones”
You deserve to be heard speak to your doctor if something doesn’t feel right. # Dr Ghada Smeda

Not all “good” skincare advice is actually good for your skin.

One of the most common things I see in clinic both in the UK and now here in Canada is well meaning routines causing more harm than benefit.

Using the wrong actives, introducing them too quickly, or combining too many at once can lead to:
• irritation
• barrier damage
• and ultimately post-inflammatory pigmentation

Especially in skin of colour, inflammation is one of the biggest triggers for pigmentation.

The approach should be:
✨ Simple
✨ Structured
✨ Introduced gradually

Good skin isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing the right things, in the right way.
