Six months into therapy, you may feel like nothing has changed.
That’s often when progress becomes hardest to see.
Think about learning to drive. At first, every move took effort. Both hands on the wheel. Mirrors checked twice. Every lane change felt like a decision.
Now you do most of it without thinking.
The skill didn’t disappear. It became familiar.
Therapy can work the same way. You pause before reacting. You notice a thought before believing it. You say what you need a little sooner.
At first, those changes feel huge. Later, they start to feel like who you are.
Before you decide therapy isn’t working, compare yourself to the person who walked into the first session.
