I was told to ensure I took some epic photos of yoga poses in the mountains. When my friend took these, I knew these weren’t the typical yoga aesthetic folks are used to in social media posts… but these definitely felt the most authentic 😅.
Authenticity in our practice means we meet ourselves where we are knowing that we can dive head first into our practice at any time without the expectation of perfection or complete control.
No mat needed, no perfectly put together outfit, no one to impress or perform for.
Authenticity means leaving the ego behind and embracing all the pieces of ourselves as they are: vulnerable, imperfect, off-balance… holding space for all of it.
Our practice can show up at any time to meet you where you are whether it be in a moment of serene contentment or in the midst of a raging storm. Every piece of ourselves (light and dark) combine to make us US…
and we are all connected in this beautifully chaotic world.
(Authenticity sometimes also means forgetting to remove your buck knife so it’s not digging into your hip or thigh during certain asanas…).
Thank you Rosemarie for the epic photos!
