The Primary Care Network Dietitian was busy again this month with the KEEP COOKING Class held on August 11th at the St. Paul Senior Citizen Center in coordination with St. Paul Regional FCSS & Family Resource Network and sponsored by the Cornerstone Co-op.

Participants took on recipes perfect for a summer BBQ, picnic or potluck and had just as much fun cooking as they did eating afterwards! Try out these fresh Greek Chicken Skewers or a lower carbohydrate version of a potato salad using cauliflower instead!

The Keep Cooking class is an opportunity focused on connecting seniors (55+) with other incredible individuals in the community all while trying new recipes and promoting continued cooking at home! ALL levels of experience are accepted whether you aren't sure how to boil an egg or can whip up a 5 course meal with your eyes closed, YOU ARE WELCOME.

If you are interested in trying out the class please call 780 645 1188 ext 3 to find out more information! The next Keep Cooking class will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd! Limited spots available!

The Keep Cooking Class ran by the PCN Dietitian had a fantastic day in Elk Point last week! Massive thank you to the Elk Point Senior Center for the use of their kitchen, St. Paul Regional FCSS & Family Resource Network for supporting the event and the Cornerstone Co-op for donating all of the cooking supplies and sending three helpers for the class! Our focus this month was lentils, beans and veggies! Check out a few of the recipes that we made and try them at home!

Thank you to everyone that has supported the Keep Cooking class so far! The next class will be held on Tuesday, August 11th but until then... Keep Cooking!

Another busy week at the Primary Care Network attending the Mannawanis Native Friendship Centre Community Wellness Day this past Wednesday. It was a great day to connect with the community and share a nutritious snack sponsored by St. Paul Giant Tiger!

The Lakeland Primary Care Network Social Workers and Dietitian are set up for St. Paul Regional FCSS & Family Resource Network Seniors' Week! We had so much fun yesterday in St. Paul and are looking forward to the rest of the week! 🥳

The Lakeland Primary Care Network Registered Dietitian (Heather Wood) in partnership with St. Paul Regional FCSS & Family Resource Network and the Cornerstone Co-op held the monthly KEEP COOKING CLASS for seniors today at the St. Paul Senior Citizen Center kitchen making a menu filled with BRUNCH AND BREAD recipes! The Keep Cooking classes have been running monthly since December 2025 and are a fun way to spend your morning visiting with others, connecting with local supports and eating great food!
