🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

Pride is a celebration of love, authenticity, community, & the courage it takes to live as your true self. It is also a reminder that the fight for equality is far from over.

While many of us are able to love openly & safely, there are still places in the world where LGBTQIA2S+ individuals face discrimination, violence, criminalization, & restrictions on their basic human rights. No government, institution, or individual should have the power to decide who someone is allowed to love. Full stop.

As a white cisgender woman, I recognize the privilege I carry & the responsibility that comes with it. Pride is not only about celebration, it is about advocacy. It is about using our voices, our platforms, & our privilege to stand alongside marginalized communities & work toward a more equitable world for everyone.

In healthcare, there is no room for discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, race, ability, religion, or any other aspect of who a person is. Every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, compassion, & evidence-based care.

At , we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, & inclusive space where all people feel seen, valued, & supported. Whether you are seeking care for the first time or have been part of our community for years, you belong here exactly as you are. 🫶🏻

This Pride Month, & every month, we celebrate love in all its forms, honour those who have fought for progress, & recommit ourselves to building a world where everyone can live openly, safely, & proudly.

& as always wishing all homophobes & transphobes a super uncomfortable month 😘

💙 May 29 is Day, a day to stand in solidarity with survivors & raise awareness during Sexual Violence Awareness Month.

As a pelvic floor physiotherapist, I recognize that the effects of sexual violence can extend far beyond the moment of trauma. Survivors may experience physical symptoms such as pelvic pain, pain with intimacy, bladder or bowel concerns, muscle tension, & nervous system dysregulation. These experiences are real, valid, & deserving of compassionate care.

If this message is for you, please know:

✨ You are not alone.
✨ You are believed.
✨ What happened to you matters.
✨ Support is available, and healing is possible at your own pace.

Seeking support can look different for everyone. It may mean reaching out to a trusted friend, connecting with a counsellor or therapist, speaking with your healthcare provider, contacting a local sexual assault support service (shout out to locally), or working with a trauma-informed healthcare professional.

Today, we wear teal to show survivors that our community sees you, supports you, & stands beside you.

Together, we can foster awareness, reduce stigma, & create spaces where survivors feel safe, heard, & empowered.

Although I’m currently on mat leave from if you need support please reach out. There are some amazing pelvic floor physios I can connect you with in my absence. 🫶🏻

As we celebrate National Physiotherapy Month, I’ve been reflecting deeply on what this profession & this community has meant to me over the years. 💛

After 13 years of volunteering with the NBPA , the time has come for me to step away from the Board.

Serving in roles including Board Director, PR/Communications Chair, Awards Chair, President-Elect, and President has been one of the greatest honours of my professional life. Through this experience, I’ve learned so much about our profession, built lasting friendships & connections with physiotherapists across the country, & had the privilege of working alongside passionate leaders who continue to shape & advance the profession in meaningful ways.

This decision was not made lightly. With the unexpected passing of my mom, alongside welcoming a newborn into our family, I know I no longer have the capacity to serve the Board in the way I always hoped to. I step away knowing the organization is in incredibly capable hands.

To my fellow physiotherapists I cannot encourage involvement enough. Our profession grows stronger because of those willing to step forward, volunteer their time, advocate, collaborate, & lead. The future of physiotherapy depends on it.

While I may be leaving the Board, I’ll continue supporting the profession through my connection with the Pelvic Health Committee & through ongoing advocacy for this work I care so deeply about.

This is not goodbye, just a “see you later.” 🤍

Happy National Physiotherapy Month to all those making a difference every day.

Fun fact - working at the .croixvocationalcentre was my last summer job before becoming a physiotherapist. It was the most fun summer! ☺️

Get out & treat yourself to some cookies for a cause!

Thankful for all the messages & flower deliveries following my mom’s death. ❤️

Grieving while in the midst of the newborn trenches is no fun.

Luckily for me this little dude is hella cute & just the best thing ever, bringing so much joy to my life already. Which is exactly what I need.

Despite not posting a lot as of late, we are here soaking in all the contact naps, learning about each other & trying to heal my grade 2 perineal tear 😅. I (shocking, not shocking) tend to overdo it.

I know the gals at are holding down the fort in my absence.

Our hockey community will come together this Saturday to honour the life and legacy of Matt McInnis, a teammate, friend, and someone who truly loved the game.

🗓 Saturday, March 14 | 6:00 PM | Garcelon Civic Centre, St. Stephen

Players from across the region, including former teammates and talent from the MHL, QMJHL, senior leagues, and more, will take the ice for a night celebrating Matt’s love of hockey while giving back to the next generation of athletes.

The evening will be packed with activities for families and kids, including face painting, chuck-a-puck, door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and canteen.

A monetary donation (any amount) or a used piece of hockey or sporting equipment will grant you admission. All proceeds support youth in sport in Matt’s name and legacy.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day. 🌿✨

Did you know that the Physiotherapy profession is powered largely by women? Women who are compassionate, intelligent, resilient clinicians who show up every day to help others reconnect with their bodies, reclaim movement, & live with less pain.

But behind the treatment tables & clinic rooms are women who are also navigating the realities of gendered labour: caring for families, carrying emotional loads, advocating for equitable pay, & pushing for recognition in a healthcare system that often undervalues work traditionally done by women.

As a feminist & a Physiotherapist, I’m constantly in awe of the women in this profession (& women in general). Women who lead with empathy & evidence. Women who challenge outdated systems. Women who create spaces where patients feel safe, heard, & empowered in their bodies.

Today is a reminder that caring professions deserve respect, fair compensation, leadership opportunities, & sustainable working conditions.

✨ Here’s to the women reshaping healthcare.
✨ Here’s to the women helping others feel strong in their bodies.
✨ Here’s to the continued work toward equity, in our clinics, our communities, & our profession.
✨ & here’s to us. Badass women. 🩷
