What if the strongest relationships aren’t the ones with the most chemistry, but the ones where both people feel genuinely safe?

Secure functioning isn’t about finding the “perfect” partner. It’s about creating a relationship where both people protect the relationship, support one another, and work together as a team.

If you’ve ever wondered why love sometimes isn’t enough, or why healthy relationships can feel so different from familiar ones, my newest blog article is for you.

Have you ever reacted in a way that didn’t feel like you?

Sometimes what appears to be “anger” or “overreacting” is actually a nervous system that has been living in survival mode for far too long.

In my newest blog article, Survival-Based Defensive Behaviour, I explore why prolonged trauma, coercive control, and chronic emotional stress can lead to defensive reactions that are often misunderstood. More importantly, I explain how understanding the nervous system can help us move from judgement to healing.

Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I’m so bored,” even though your to-do list is overflowing?

Boredom isn’t always a sign that you have nothing to do. Sometimes it’s your brain telling you that what you’re doing doesn’t feel meaningful, engaging, or rewarding. Stress, burnout, decision fatigue, and even nervous system dysregulation can make it difficult to start tasks, even when you genuinely want to.

Understanding why boredom happens can help you respond with curiosity instead of self-criticism.

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel stuck despite having plenty to do, my latest blog explores the science behind boredom and what it may be trying to tell you.

Today’s aroma in the office… 🍊💙

Every detail of our therapy space is chosen with intention, including the aroma.

Today’s diffuser blend is Grapefruit and Ylang Ylang.

🍊 Grapefruit brings a bright, uplifting freshness that may help promote mental clarity, positivity, and renewed energy.

💙 Ylang Ylang offers a gentle floral scent that is often associated with relaxation, emotional balance, and calming the nervous system.

Together, they create a peaceful, welcoming environment that supports reflection, connection, and healing from the moment you walk through the door.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that help us feel safe enough to begin the work.

Today’s aroma in the office was 4 drops of Easy Air and 4 drops of Lavender.

Creating a calm, welcoming space is part of the therapeutic experience. While conversation is important, the environment can also help our nervous system settle.

Easy Air offers a fresh, clean aroma that many people find refreshing and grounding, while Lavender is well known for its calming properties and is often associated with relaxation and emotional wellbeing.

Together, they create a peaceful atmosphere that encourages slowing down, taking a deeper breath, and feeling a little more present.

Sometimes healing begins before a single word is spoken.

Who really fell in love… your Self, or one of your parts?

Have you ever wondered why some relationships feel instantly familiar, incredibly intense, or almost impossible to leave, even when they’re unhealthy?

What if the answer isn’t simply chemistry or compatibility?

In my latest blog article, I explore:
• How our protective parts can choose a partner before our authentic Self does.
• Why trauma bonds can feel so powerful.
• The difference between attachment, protection, and genuine intimacy.
• What changes when healing begins and Self starts leading the relationship.

It’s a different way of thinking about love, relationships, and healing that may change how you see your own story.

Starting high school is one of the biggest transitions in a young person’s life.

For many teens, beginning high school brings excitement, but it can also bring uncertainty.

New classmates. A larger school. Greater expectations. Different teachers. More independence. Questions like “Will I fit in?” or “What if I can’t keep up?” are more common than many people realise.

Some teenagers become quiet. Others seem irritable, overwhelmed, or withdraw from family and friends. These are often signs that they’re adjusting to change, not that they’re failing.

Parents can help by listening without rushing to solve every problem, maintaining familiar routines at home, encouraging healthy sleep and nutrition, and reminding their teen that it takes time to settle into something new.

The transition to high school doesn’t have to be faced alone. With the right support, this period of change can become an opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and new friendships.

If your teen is struggling with the transition to high school, we’re here to help.
