Tomorrow Bob Skully, myself, and two of my favourite colleagues will be travelling to Toronto.
I can’t wait to learn about CranioSacral Therapy, and become certified. This is something I have been waiting for years to learn.
I can’t wait to be back next week, with new knowledge, skill and certification 🙃

Using light touch, CST works to calm the nervous system, release tension patterns, and support the body’s natural ability to restore balance. Many people report feeling deeply relaxed, grounded, and more connected to their bodies after a session.

Benefits may include:
🌿 Reduced stress and anxiety💆
Relief from headaches and jaw tension😴 Improved sleep
🧠 Nervous system regulation💫 A sense of calm and reset

Sometimes the body doesn’t need more pressure — it needs safety, stillness, and support.

In a break room, just steps away from the clinical floor, a staff member takes 10 minutes for a wellness massage. No leaving the unit. No long appointment. Just space to sit, breathe, and be supported.

I can see it happen in real time - shoulders soften, breathing slows, the nervous system settles.

This is more than a massage.
It's connection.
It's safe, intentional touch.
It's a quiet reminder that caregivers need care too.

I believe that wellness matters in the work place. Because when we create moments to support the people who give so much…

We strengthen the whole system

Behind every diagnosis, every treatment plan, and every patient story—there’s a laboratory and pathology team working quietly with precision, dedication, and care.

Thank you for your expertise, your attention to detail, and your unwavering commitment to excellence. You are an essential part of the healthcare team, and your contributions truly matter.

I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate with this amazing group. Providing a few moments of calming nervous systems, and providing just a few moments of rest.

Thank you for welcoming me into your break room 🥰

Well, goal accomplished! Despite not training as much as I should have, I still made it up every single Hill! I finished stronger, and with more speed then I anticipated 💪🏻🙃
I am super proud of myself, because despite everything, I remained determined to complete what I signed up for. I kept moving even when everything in me wanted to bail out.
As always I am grateful for my little group of running friends Donna, Ian, Becca, Keri-Ann, Debbie, Leigh. I could hear you all rooting for me, cheering for me, you kept me moving.
Thanks to my husband, and my kids for tagging along 🥰

Why I love my wellness job. I know that the work I do makes a real difference in people’s lives every day. Wellness is about more than programs or challenges—it’s about helping people feel supported, seen, and empowered to care for themselves.

What I love most is creating opportunities for others to pause, recharge, and reconnect with their health in meaningful ways. Whether it’s designing wellness initiatives, encouraging healthier habits, or bringing moments of calm into busy work environments, I get to help build a culture where people can thrive.

In healthcare especially, wellness matters deeply. Supporting those who spend their days caring for others feels purposeful and rewarding. I love being part of something that reminds people their own well-being matters too.

One day. One moment. One breath at a time. Yesterday was a tough day. You will have more to carry today.

This week I have been very busy with Wellness Week at STEGH. I also had the honour of helping to plan this event. It's a week where we offer different opportunities for staff to experience massage, chiropractic, Reiki, and other holistic services. We brought in therapy dogs, handed out snacks, did some stretching, played games, listened to music, created art, and admired art. It's a week for staff to find some time to focus on their own wellness.
Taking care of the ones that take care of our community is my favourite thing to do 🙃🥰

Two new T-shirts to add to my collection. I will be a walking reminder, to everyone, and also to myself 🤷‍♀️

Because fascia connects everything.

A clenched jaw is often a quiet signal from your nervous system:
"I'm still on."
Try this gentle reset:
• Let your teeth soften apart
• Rest your tongue heavy in your mouth
• Take a slow breath in... longer breath out
Sometimes the most powerful release isn't force — it's safety.
