I want to be very clear: the research on strength training and health is not ambiguous.

3 hours a week. That's all it takes to measurably reduce your risk of depression, anxiety, heart disease, diabetes, and premature death.

But here's what the research can't fully capture.

There's something that happens when you lift weights that no study has ever been able to put into words.

No matter what's going on outside the gym (the stress, the uncertainty, the pressure, the noise) when I pick up something heavy and put it back down, everything gets quieter.

The business problem that felt unsurmountable an hour ago suddenly has a solution.

The anxiety that was sitting on my chest when I walked in is gone by the time I walk out.
Like it's all going to be okay.

Because it is.

Modern life will try to break you. Your body is the best defense you have against it.

3 hours a week. 1.8% of your time.

That's the whole prescription.

Double crush syndrome is something I see occasionally in practice

Double crush syndrome is a condition in which a peripheral nerve is compressed or irritated at two or more locations along its pathway. The theory suggests that when a nerve is mildly compressed in one area, it becomes more vulnerable to compression elsewhere. This combined irritation can impair nerve function and increase symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness.

A common example involves compression of a cervical nerve root in the neck together with compression of the median nerve at the wrist in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. A patient may experience neck pain, shoulder discomfort, hand numbness, or reduced grip strength. Individually, each compression site may be mild, but together they can produce more significant symptoms.

Systemic conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease, or repetitive strain may further increase susceptibility to nerve injury.

Treatment focuses on addressing all contributing compression sites rather than treating only one area. Conservative management may include activity modification, ergonomic changes, soft tissue therapy, spinal manipulation, splinting, and nerve gliding exercises.

Recognition of double crush syndrome is important because incomplete treatment of one compression site may lead to ongoing symptoms if another site remains untreated.

If 90% of your snacks were:

- Hard boiled eggs
- Clean & Natural Protein Shake
- Greek yogurt
- Mixed nuts
- Berries
- Dark chocolate

You would stop crashing, gain muscle & have actual energy.
