I’m so excited to share this! 💗

I’ve put together a visual guide to our local Labour & Delivery space, created to help expecting families feel a little more familiar with the room before the day they walk into it in labour. We’re so lucky to have our prenatal appointments in this space, and my hope is that families can use this guide to plan and envision how you’d like your birth experience to feel.

Looking for support as you prepare for birth?I offer birth doula support throughout pregnancy, labour and birth. I focus on helping you feel informed, supported and empowered as you move through the experience. If you’d like to learn more about working together, I’d love to hear from you.

Last week, I supported my first labour and birth as a birth doula. I can’t even put into words how this feels. Something I have thought a lot about is how far I have come since being thrown into the world of birth/postpartum with my first baby. It’s just really cool that I’ve arrived to this season of life. Some cliffnotes of that special day last week:

🌀my apple watch not recognizing that standing beside a labouring mom is in fact, a workout
🌀arriving home at 11pm and stepping out of the car to feel the warm summer air, sparkling stars and just knowing everyone is safe and cozy
🌀the midwife trusting me to make sure the placenta doesn’t fall off the bed
🌀placenta prints
🌀kwuna times lining up perfectly
🌀Isabel creek having the best early labour/postpartum snacks

Research Opportunity - Help to inform future care for people facing miscarriages!

UBC is conducting a research project for Canadian residents who have experienced one or more miscarriages in the past 5 years - Honorarium provided.

This research study aims to examine the role of community care for folks who have experienced miscarriage and how community care shaped their healing. They are looking for participants who have endured one or more miscarriages in the past five years to interview about their experience of community care during and post-miscarriage.

Two years ago, I was counting down the days until I met my own baby. Now here I am two years later, waiting with that same anticipation, but this time as a doula💗💗💗 it is such an honour to be invited into these magical birth spaces.
