Had alllllll the puppy cuddles and nose boops 🐶. I got to take off my therapist hat and put on my volunteer hat with this morning. We had therapy dog Hudson and his person Christina, along with fellow volunteer Joel attend Lambton EMS to bring some smiles. Needless to say many smiles were had.

Boots on the Ground can offer this to your service or association, so if this is something you need/want/would like, reach out and I’ll connect you with who can set that up. If you’re unsure of what is you can give them a follow, they are doing great things in the first responder community. I am grateful to have been a part of this volunteer led organization for the past 5 years.

Special thanks to Hudson and Christina for coming all the way from London to hang with us. It was such a fun morning 🩵

🦬 🩵2026 Run for the Frontline BIB RELEASE! We’ve been in full planning mode for our third year back. We hope to bring an even better event for you this year. Registration is open and you won’t want to miss it. The run will be capped at 300 participants - so once it’s sold out there will be no opportunity to participate.

Proceeds of the run will be donated to

This year we have:
1km kids fun run (12 years and under FREE)
5km run/walk
10km run/walk *new this year
GUARDIAN CUP TEAM CHALLENGE (teams of 4 - 5km distance only)

Every participant will receive a special edition challenge coin and those registered in the 5km and 10km distance will also receive a custom tshirt.

The winning team of the team challenge will have their name engraved on the cup and best of all bragging rights 😉

Proof that we can do hard things. I ran 100 kms this past weekend. It had me thinking about the concept of hard things. What I was doing was hard, but those I sit with every day in the therapy room are doing an even harder thing. I have so much respect for those who are in the trenches of mental health and continue to show up and battle. Keep pushing, keep fighting, one step at a time.

Running is something I use as an analogy in the therapy room lots. It is also why I created Run for the Frontline, the 5km/10km run in October. I would love to have you come and participate and do a hard thing. Consider joining us October 4!

Another peer support group was held this evening, this time in my new office space. I am continuously grateful to those who attend this group. It can be a beautiful thing to be surrounded by people who “just get it”. Tonight we weaved into many different topics, some including PTSD, emotional dysregulation, and the broken system. With the final messaging being to find the micro moments for yourself, because as spouses and family members you and your wellness matter too 💙

Cantara Park (Terry Fox Loop pavillion)
9:30 am

You can choose from a beautiful 5KM route throughout scenic Canatara Park or challenge yourself with our *NEW* 10KM route that will also take you along our beautiful waterfront. We also have a FREE 1KM race for kids 12 and younger. If you are feeling competitive we have the 5KM team challenge as well. All ages, paces, abilities welcome - this is a walk friendly event 💪

Holding space for so many. Last evening a young person was shot and killed on campus. As a faculty member at Lambton, a therapist, and as a human being my heart feels so heavy. This senseless act of violence did not need to happen. This situation has rippled in the community in many ways.

If you, or someone you know is struggling to process or make sense of this please don’t hold on to that yourself. There are supports available. Please reach out if you would like some guidance/support or unsure of where to go.

My thoughts are with the family of the victim and all those who were involved.
