Once a year, people worldwide gather together to bring comfort to one another, share their experiences and provide support. Families around the world participate in every time zone at 7:00 pm local time, creating a continuous Wave of Light across the globe for 24 hours.

Join us tonight as we honour the babies we have lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, medical termination, and infant death.

Our ceremony will officially end at 7:15 pm, however, all families are welcome to stay and watch the candles, or leave a message to their babies and to others in the loss community.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Pregnancy and
Infant Loss is a topic that many people find difficult to speak about, yet for thousands of families, it’s a lived reality. The silence surrounding pregnancy and infant loss can be isolating. Through community events and partnerships, works to ensure that nobody feels like they must endure their loss alone.

In Ontario, October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Every year over 37,000 families in Ontario experience this type of loss. In 2015, Bill 141 was passed to support research and programming for pregnancy loss and infant death. The legislation also proclaimed October 15th as a day of remembrance across the province.

Join us on October 15 for a memorial ceremony beginning at 6:45 pm, followed by the International Wave of Light at 7:00 pm. Candles will be lit during the ceremony to honour the babies we have lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, medical termination, and infant death.

In Ontario, October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Every year over 37,000 families in Ontario experience this type of loss. In 2015, Bill 141 was passed to support research and programming for pregnancy loss and infant death. The legislation also proclaimed October
15th as a day of remembrance across the province.

On this day, families affected by loss will participate in the International Wave of Light at 7PM local time. Landmarks across the country will be illuminated in purple to honour the memory of these babies. We are grateful that the City of Sarnia will join us by lighting up City Hall and the Sarnia sign.

Join us on October 15 for a memorial ceremony beginning at 6:45pm, followed by the International Wave of Light at 7pm. Candles will be lit during the ceremony to honour the babies we have lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, medical termination and infant death.

This ceremony is an opportunity for anyone who is affected by pregnancy and infant loss to come together and acknowledge all those babies – to say their names and tell their stories, if they wish.

We don’t have to grieve in silence or in darkness. Whether you are a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, or a friend, you are all welcome to come together to bring a little bit of light into an otherwise dark world.

Our ceremony will officially end at 7:15pm, however all families are welcome to sit and stay, to leave a message to their babies, and to others in the loss community.

RSVP is appreciated, but we welcome you regardless.

Join us on Thursday, October 15 as we gather as part of the International Wave of Light ceremonies - where we hold space to honour and remember our babies who are gone too soon.

We will be gathered at Radiant Community Centre at 109 Mitton St S in Sarnia.

You are welcome to bring the safe people who create your support system.
You are welcome to come as you are.
However you show up that day - we hold space to honour you, your baby, and your journey.

Today can be a complicated day.

For those who have lost their baby.
For those who have only ever carried their babies in the bellies and their hearts.
For those who have carried hope and heartbreak.
For those who have living children trying to celebrate them today, and still feel the calling of the ones not physically here.

Whether this is your first Mother's Day without your baby, or your 5th, or your 20th, or your 50th, or more, we know this day isn't easy.

We hold space for you and your babies.

Your motherhood matters.

You are not alone.

To the mothers who hold babies in their hearts instead of their arms - we are holding you close.

There is no right way to move through this day.

You might want to be alone. You might want to be surrounded by people who understand.
You might honor your baby in a quiet way, or this may be like any other day.

Whatever this day looks like for you, let it be yours. 💜

There are no "right words" to describe the weight of the love and quiet remembrance of a mother who carries the legacy of her baby who she longed for and carried for a short time.

If you know a bereaved mother, reach out.

Even if you don't know what to say - "thinking of you and your baby today" is enough.

You may light a candle, make a small donation in their baby's honor, or just remind them they are not forgotten.
