Funding a Day of Compassionate Care is more than just a donation, it is a heartfelt contribution that ensures we can continue to offer our community comfort, peace, and exceptional care when they need it the most. Your support enriches our residents and families’ time spent at Hospice during their end-of-life journey, giving them a space to focus on what truly matters.

Daily ‘Care for a Day’ at St. Joseph’s Hospice exceeds $785. With Government funding only covering 56% of the cost per bed per day, we experience a funding shortfall of $345 per bed.

Our $200 Care for a Day Donation helps fund a day of care and bridges the gap to ensure our care continues in the Sarnia Lambton Community.

You can choose to have your donation recognized on our Social Media or remain anonymous. In addition, we will add a butterfly to our Care for a Day board in the Hospice Residence, in recognition of your gift. All donations are eligible for a full tax receipt. You can choose to dedicate a day in memory of a loved one, in honour of someone special, or support a future resident who will need our care.

BE PART OF THE GALA! VOLUNTEER SERVERS WANTED (NO SMART SERVE REQUIRED)

Come out and be a part of our exciting event! Give back to Hospice and get to be a part of a truly incredible evening!

This year our Dancing Under the Stars Gala will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2026.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in helping out the night of the Gala as a Volunteer Server.

This role & requirements include:
• Serving drinks *only* to assigned tables
• No cash exchange, drink tickets only
• Smart Serve Certification is welcomed but NOT required
• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
• ALL volunteers must attend a mandatory Server Training Information Session

Server Training Sessions will be taking place on:
-Tuesday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m. – Past Servers Meeting
-Thursday, October 29th at 6:00 p.m. – New Servers Meeting
-Monday, November 2nd at 6:30 p.m. – New Servers Meeting
-Tuesday, November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. – New & Past Servers Meeting

If you are interested in helping out as a Volunteer Server, NEW THIS YEAR, we are asking you to confirm your place by e-mailing us at [email protected] and letting us know which Server Training Session you will be attending.

At St. Joseph’s Hospice, we recognize how important community and connection can be when experiencing the death of someone significant. We’re exploring the creation of a grief support group for young adults ages 18–30, and we want to hear directly from young adults about what meaningful, accessible grief support could look like.

If you’re between 18 and 30 years old, please take a couple of minutes to complete our survey and share your thoughts. Your input will help us understand what this community needs and how we can best support young adults in navigating grief. Your voice can help shape a new grief support group.

Enbridge Helping Hands Make a Difference at Hospice

On September 18th, we were so grateful to welcome the Enbridge Helping Hands team to St. Joseph’s Hospice for a wonderful day of employee volunteering and community support!

The team rolled up their sleeves and helped us stain and refresh the exterior posts at our Residence, helping us care for the space that our residents and families call home during such an important time in their lives.

It was truly a pleasure having everyone here. Their generosity went beyond the work they completed, it was the time, energy and care they so willingly gave back to our community that meant so much to us.

Thank you to Enbridge and the Helping Hands team for choosing St. Joseph’s Hospice and for demonstrating the incredible impact that employee volunteering and giving can have in our community.

We are so appreciative of your helping hands and your very big hearts!
